Lisa Vanderpump left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mid-season 9 after drama with her co-stars. The restaurant magnate has been open about the difficult year she had and why she left the reality series. Prior to the premiere of Vanderpump Rules in January, the former housewife reveals the exact moment that she knew she no longer wanted to do the show.
“It was a very sad year for me to lose my brother and so on. I was very honest about that and I was struggling with depression, “Vanderpump explained on Access Daily.
The animal lover said she had managed to shoot Vanderpump Rules, but when it came to RHOBH, she felt she couldn’t do it. Vanderpump even said that Andy Cohen told her it was a mistake for her to do season 9 and they should have given her a season off.
“It was very difficult, the whole situation. [They] all started to come to me and it was all based on the entire dog failure. It got too fat and I suddenly thought, “That’s it, I’m done,” Vanderpump explained.
“I had so much to do. I opened TomTom, Vanderpump Rules is a big show, we have the dog rescue center, we opened in Vegas. There was just so much and when it was all piled on top of me and I was emotionally empty, I just said, “You know what?” I’m done, “she added.
Vanderpump said she was trying to remove herself from the Puppygate situation and show because her former co-stars were apparently too aggressive about the ordeal. When they asked her which of the housewives she would keep in touch with, she refused to answer.
Will Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump’s friendship continue?
It was pretty sad how Vanderpump felt she was being treated during RHOBH season 9 and even more sad about how she didn’t get a good sale. Vanderpump did not end well with one of the ladies, namely Kyle Richards who was closest to the cast.
Richards was asked how season 10 photographed without its former best, fans knew there was no reconciliation in sight.
“I literally go back and forth, and 100 times I go back and forth and just keep going. Business as usual,” Richards told Hollywood Life about filming RHOBH along with the Halloween movie.
Richards seems to derive from her friendship with Vanderpump and focuses on her projects at hand.
Lisa Vanderpump has a bigger presence on ‘Vanderpump Rules’
With Vanderpump off from RHOBH, she had more time to concentrate on her other hit show, Vanderpump Rules. In the Bravo reality series, Vanderpump also acts as executive producer and has creative input.
“Lisa is excited to be told more about this season of Vanderpump Rules,” a close source told Hollywood Life. “First she decided what to do to return to Housewives so she didn’t want to film for Vanderpump Rules at the same time, but when the decision was made to stop [RHOBH], she couldn’t wait to be on the camera anymore. “

The founder of Vanderpump Dogs was more involved with the cast in season 8, which will make it more interesting as her “rules” take over.
“[Vanderpump] hung around much more with the cast, wanted to be included in the trips, show up for events, etc. You’ll see Lisa much more next season now that she has more time to film with the kids’ as she calls them, the insider added.
