As a rule, members of the Royal Family may not have personal accounts on social media. Just before her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018, Meghan Markle deleted all her personal accounts shortly after she closed the doors of her lifestyle blog The Tig in April last year.
But rumors are that the duchess may have found her way back in the grip of social media with the rise of her and Prince Harry’s Instagram page, @SussexRoyal.

Meghan and Harry’s work assignments were previously shared on the @KensingtonRoyal alongside The Cambridges, but as the birth of their first child approached, the couple left with their own page.
And it is rumored that it might be the Duchess behind the captions after the royal spectators had seen a few clues with an eagle’s eye.
First, and probably the most obvious, use of the American spelling of words. Although the duchess’s first language is clearly English, she comes from the US, meaning she spreads words differently from those of her British husband – or their staff. Captions of Meghan and Harry’s Instagram posts tend to stick to the American versions of certain words, such as: Organization instead of organization and reinsergized instead of reactivated.
Royal viewers have also picked up other Americanizations on the page, such as the use of dollars instead of pounds, also diapers instead of the Anglo-English term, diapers.

There is also an unusual use of emojis. The first emoji appeared on the @SussexRoyal on the second post ever, where a camera emoji was used to credit a photographer. A red heart was also used in post-thanking fans for their charity donations.

Now it may not sound that much, but since the royal family’s Instagram and other social media are relatively simple and fact-driven, the introduction of emojis seems to show a bit of unprecedented personality in the feed. Not to mention that prior to deleting the accounts, Markle was an enthusiastic social media user with more than 1.9 million followers on Instagram and more than 300,000 on Twitter.
If Meghan actually gets her social media solution, we would like to think she scrolls through all the memo pages every day, takes screenshots of funny photos and text them to Prince Harry.
