Watch out, Charlie Puth – Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are perhaps in the race for knowing the most Friends trivia!
Aniston, 50, and Witherspoon, 43 – who play the lead role in the new Apple Plus series The Morning Show – visited the Graham Norton Show on Friday and were subjected to a pop Friends quiz. The pair succeeded with flying colors, which makes sense, since Aniston was one of the stars of the sitcom and Witherspoon appeared in the series as the sister of Aniston’s character Rachel.
The quiz master was none other than Sir Ian McKellen. Julie Andrews was also part of the group and finally got the last question correct.
After Norton told his guests that there would be a Friends quiz, Witherspoon said, “Oh, she’s going to win,” pointing to Aniston. Aniston replied, “Oh, I don’t know.”
McKellen took his duties seriously and said to the group of ladies: “I want you to raise your hand if you know the answer.”
“Yes, sir,” Aniston replied.
The first question went to Aniston, who correctly identified Rachel Green’s first outfit as a wedding dress in the show. Fans of the beloved NBC sitcom will remember that Aniston’s first scene is Rachel who meets Central Perk after leaving her fiancé at the altar.
Witherspoon took the opportunity to give the following answer because the group was asked to fill in the line after: “This is about being a brat who wants what you can’t have.”
“Can’t have? The only thing I can’t have is dairy!” Witherspoon answered correctly and pointed out that it was her character, Jill Green, who said the line in the show. The exchange was between Rachel and Jill in season 6, when Jill wanted to date Rachel’s ex, Ross Geller (David Schwimmer).
Aniston answered the following and said that Rachel ruined her Thanksgiving British trifle by putting beef in it – McKellen said that was not entirely correct, because the technical answer was the shepherd’s tail, which he said was traditionally made with lamb. In the show, however, Rachel’s recipe called for beef.
The audience jumped in to answer the following question – what song did Rachel sing for her daughter Emma? – screaming “Baby Got Back!” Before anyone on the podium could answer.
The last question went to Andrews, 84.
“When Ross went out with Rachel, why did he like sleeping with other women?” McKellen asked.
“I know! It’s because he said,” We had a break. “”
The audience burst into applause after the answer and closed the quiz.
