The Highwomen & Jimmy Fallon Strip Down Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’ With Acoustic Version Watch

The Highwomen and Jimmy Fallon cover Fleetwood Mac.

The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon just can’t get enough of the Highwomen. In addition to the first performance of the new supergroup in the July 30 episode of the show, they have just released a new video from Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Amanda Shires and Natalie Hemby singing their cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” with the host.

In a new “backstage acoustic” clip, the Highwomen is accompanied by Jason Isbell, rocker and husband of Shires, and Tim and Phil Hanseroth, Carlile’s staff, for a scarce and stunning version of the classic Fleetwood Mac track. The whole production is an atmosphere, from the boots that stomp on boxes to keep time to the glow of the low-hanging lights – not to mention the version itself, which brings Fallon in the perfectly harmonized mix.

The Highwomen version of “The Chain” premiered in the trailer of The Kitchen, the crime thriller from the 70s with Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss who came to the cinema last week. The Highwomen, their self-titled debut LP, is falling on September 6.

Watch below how The Highwomen and Fallon sing ‘The Chain’.
