Teen Mom 2 has always been full of drama – that is undeniable. But as the young women grow older, they become more involved with long-term issues, including working on their mental health. In season 9, Chelsea (Houska) DeBoer showed us how she manages her fear, with a little help from her husband, Cole. This is what we learned from this during part 3 of the Teen Mom 2 Season 9 Reunion Special.
Chelsea’s family grew in Season 9
There were many changes for the DeBoer family in season 9 of Teen Mom 2. In addition to Chelsea’s daughter, Aubrey, from a previous relationship, they had Watson, a toddler, to look after. And soon there was a new addition.
Chelsea Houska born the couple’s second child together during the season: a daughter named Lane. So most of the season, Chelsea Houska was juggling three children at home, often having to pick up Aubrey at school with the two little ones in tow. Talk about a lot to deal with.
There was one major incident
Fortunately, the family was able to get away for a quick family vacation. Although they had a great time, they returned to their rural home in South Dakota to discover that the house had been broken into and robbed.
Chelsea Houska reacted very fiercely and became too nervous to spend time alone in her house. She struggled with great fear and told the cameras: “I can’t do anything, I can’t go anywhere – I can’t even drive without feeling that way.”
Chelsea experienced a full-on anxiety attack at one point

Chelsea’s struggles continued in the course of various episodes. She said she always struggled with fear, but not to this extent. Then we discover in one episode that she was out with a friend when she had a panic attack and was taken to the hospital.
In conversation with Dr. Drew during the reunion special Chelsea Houska said about the attack: “I felt that I was about to get an attack or something. I could not speak, my heart was beating.” After her trip to the hospital, we saw Chelsea Houska for a while wear a heart monitor to determine if there was a medical condition other than fear at the root of it all.
Here’s how Cole is helping Chelsea manage her anxiety
Despite the fact that he is apparently healthy, Chelsea’s fear is a real medical condition, and the show treats it as such. So Dr Drew asked Cole, who attended his first reunion special since he participated in the show in season 6, how he supports his wife today.
“After she went through it, I wrote her a stack of notes … that she could find when she woke up,” Cole said shortly after her attack. Chelsea Houska agreed: “They are still up! I won’t take them down. “Nessa asked her what the banknotes said, and Chelsea Houska said the messages read things like” Today you’re going to have a great day. ” You are an amazing woman. “She gushed,” He’s just that good. “
