It is officially Avengers: Endgame month, and the excitement rises to a level that has never been seen before in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans have eagerly waited for tickets to be the first to see the culmination of the more than 10 years of MCU promotion that led to this franchise moment. Now that time has finally come and Marvel has also offered a new, minute-long “Special Look” trailer that gives even more insight into Endgame. This is what you need to know.
Tickets are on sale
The announcement finally came on April 2, 2019: you can now buy tickets to see Avengers: Endgame in theaters on April 26. This has been going on for a long time, because tickets for the predecessor of the film, Avengers: Infinity War, went on sale six weeks prior to the film’s release. So at the end of March there was concern about when they would become available for Endgame.
The rush to buy tickets has caused technological difficulties
Not surprisingly, with the announcement came a hurry to buy tickets as quickly as possible, to guarantee the best seats at the first possible show in your local theater. Sites such as Fandango and AMC Theaters of course knew in advance, but were still not fully prepared for the crowds, as they both had technical problems causing them to crash due to the huge increase in traffic.
Here’s what we learned from this new trailer
Along with the announcement came a minute-long trailer with many new images from the film. There is much that can be taken away from what is seen here, so let’s start right away:
The first scenes for the title card show the Avengers at the head office. Although the image material is new, it does not give us too much additional information. Bruce Banner says they are “in the act”, but this does not seem to discourage Thor, Rhodey, Steve Rogers or Black Widow. The last one says: ‘We owe it to everyone who is not here with room to try. “
Some of the most exciting moments come when we see Tony and Nebula back on earth and share important moments with those who have missed them. We also see Carol Danvers in the pilot’s seat, next to the co-pilot Rocket Raccoon. But the greatest revelation comes at the very end when Thanos is seen as his voice-over says, “You could not live with your own failure. Where did that take you? Back to me.”
How much is Endgame poised to make?
Given the early rush to tickets, it is safe to say that Endgame wants to break a number of cash register records. It is almost guaranteed that more than $ 2 billion will be received worldwide, an achievement that Infinity War has already accomplished. The real question is, could it break $ 3 billion?
Many believe that this will be the case. Because China (which is the second place for North American cash register sales only) publishes the film on the same weekend, some think Endgame could reach a top of $ 1 billion in the opening weekend alone. The film can even break the record of the most successful film of all time, currently being kept by Avatar. We have to wait and see how the numbers for ticket sales keep coming in.
