TLC’s long-running true-life series My 600-lb Life often features life-changing stories of morbidly obese people who make a profound and lasting change in their lives.
With the help of surgeon Dr. Now, various participants are put on strict diet and exercise regimens, and after weeks of hard work on both, they hopefully qualify for weight-loss surgery. For the most part, the stars of My 600-lb Life struggle with deeper psychological issues, often based on trauma.
The show highlights how difficult the issue of weight management really is. Sometimes stories don’t have a happy ending. Several stars have even died after their appearance on a hit show. Thankfully, in the case of season 8, Travis Henry from Texas took Dr. Now’s advice and killed it completely . Fans will remember that Travis Henry left healthier and happier than ever, but the more pressing question is whether or not he continued to work hard on himself afterwards?
Where Is Travis Henry From My 600-lb Life Now?
As The Cinemaholic points out, Travis began overeating as a child after the break-up of his parents’ marriage, leading to a general lack of supervision. The young man understandably developed serious abandonment issues, exacerbated by the fact that his former fiancé dumped him just a month after the engagement.
Travis Henry consistently turned to food for happiness and support. His wife, Yasmin, along with her mother, who often cooked for him, became a kind of helper. The musician turned to Dr. Now for help and, thanks to his rigorous program, achieved a huge weight loss, ending up at 379 pounds after starting at 617 pounds.
As the TV Shows Ace confirms, Travis continued to work hard after the end of My 600-lb Life and maintained the healthy habits he learned on the show. He and Yasmin are still together and happy too. Judging by a full Instagram shot taken in January 2021, the former reality star is keeping the weight off impressively well. Last year, a ‘day in the life’ style YouTube video gave fans an insight into how well-balanced Travis is overall.
