Who is the character of Chad Michael Murray on Riverdale?
On Riverdale – the OTH alum, Edgar Evernever portrays. He made his big entrance into the Riverdale Universe during the second annual musical episode of the show, which was inspired by Heathers. Murray told Cosmopolitan,
[Edgar] is calm. Quiet. Open. I think he is a listener and someone who is very good at reading people. I think that when you look at a certain person who can have so much power over a group of individuals and lead a group that uses their own theories and perspectives on life, that is always fascinating. Edgar is a unique character. I think there are so many layers to call back, so it is a very slow burn to really discover who this man is, what his background is and where he comes from. It was nice for me to see where he is going, what he wants and what his quest is all about. Beyond that, I can’t say much. He is the leader of the farm. The farm strongly believes in Edgar and their business.

This is how Chad Michael Murray feels about returning to TV
One of the reasons why Riverdale has been loved for generations is because the adult characters have all played iconic teenage characters in the past, such as the deceased Luke Perry. Murray is excited to return to the teenage drama so that he can transfer his industry wisdom to a new generation. He explained
I will say that these children are much smarter than I ever was – it’s fascinating to see it. It was sixteen years ago that I started photographing One Tree Hill … I can look back and see the journey they are going to make. I can borrow an ear if someone wants to release or ask questions. I am willing to be a sounding board. To be able to come in as Edgar and play something different and a character who has a depth and intrigue for me … plus, the cult world … I thought: “that’s not a good idea.”
