Crikey! That’s a big alligator.”
Robert Irwin recently showed us that in a sweet Instagram post he looks exactly like his famous father, Steve Irwin. The younger Irwin and his sister Bindi have dedicated their lives to continuing the legacy of their father. And that means working with all kinds of animals, including the dangerous ones.
In his last post, Irwin demonstrated his skills by getting up close and personal with an old friend of his father – Murray the alligator.
Who was Steve Irwin?
In the case that you lived under a rock in the 1990s, Steve Irwin was a famous animal handler who regularly appeared on TV to talk about animals that most of us would get nowhere near. His biggest show was called The Crocodile Hunter, which he organized with his wife Terri. It showed them that they were traveling to wild locations and handling crocodiles while teaching the public about the importance of nature conservation.
Irwin always seemed cheerful and excited about his adventures, an attitude that made people around him love him. His slogan “Crikey!” Was repeated by children from all over the world, fantasizing about leading a life exploring wildlife such as Irwin.
Unfortunately, Irwin was pierced by a stingray in 2006 while filming the documentary Ocean’s Deadliest. The film crew couldn’t help him and Irwin died at the age of 44.
Who are Robert and Bindi Irwin?

Although the children of Irwin, Robert and Bindi, had appeared on television at a young age, the world first noticed them when Robert appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
He surprised the audience and inspired nostalgia by looking, speaking and acting in a way that was almost identical to his deceased father. Irwin introduced the crowd to various wild animals and has been invited back many times since.
In addition to organizing various nature shows to keep his father’s legacy alive, Irwin will occasionally post sweet messages on his Instagram. Before the photo was recently posted, Irwin also posted a message to the late Irwin on Father’s Day.
It contained a photo of Irwin and his children as toddlers posing in a box. The caption read: “You will always be the best father in the world.”
Bindi recently made headlines with news about her involvement with professional wakeboarder, Chandler Powell. The couple often work together in the zoo where Bindi spends most of her time. Powell seems to have been adopted into the family tradition of animal protection, and he couldn’t be happier with it.
The Irwins group that we should pay attention to for everything that wildlife sees seems to continue to grow. Irwin would be very proud if he were here today.
It is a pity that the Irwin family lost their patriarch so early. He clearly made a huge impression on them, as well as the entire world. We will all miss Irwin, but we are lucky that his children who want to continue his legacy and continue to teach us about the animal kingdom.
Robert Irwin’s tribute to Steve Irwin
Irwin recently placed two photos next to each other on Instagram. They were taken apart for exactly 15 years and show both the father and the son feeding an alligator called Murray.
Both Irwins are dressed in the typical uniform of the zoo, with a large piece of meat that the alligator can snack on. They even stand in the same position, with father and son stepping forward with their right foot.
Irwin endorsed the post: “Dad and I feed Murray … the same place, the same croc- two pictures with an interval of 15 years.” It also contained a heart and an alligator emoji.
The post is a sweet reminder of the Australian animal whisperer that we lost 13 years ago. Since that time, his children have done everything to keep his legacy alive. That includes hosting TV shows, such as their current project for Animal Planet, a series entitled Crikey! It is the Irwins who stare at both children and their mother, Terri Irwin.
