Recently Prince Harry has been on a mission to prevent the media from invading his privacy and attacking the character of his wife. A few weeks ago, Meghan Markle decided to sue the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday after her husband issued a statement saying he was upset that the publication had published a handwritten letter written by the Duchess of Sussex to her father just before she and Prince Harry are married.
Duchess Meghan not only sues the popular tabloids for having changed her personal letter to her father, but it was also recently announced that Prince Harry is going to sue two other publications for alleged infringement of his privacy. Although Prince Harry is not the first royal to ever sue a worldwide publication, there are several rumors suggesting that the royal family is ashamed of the recent spectacle caused by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex because of their lawsuits.
So is the royal family really angry about the recent lawsuits that Markle and Prince Harry have filed? And if so, is the family justified?
Although the recent legal action of Prince Harry and Markle may attract some unwanted attention to the royal family, the actions of the duke and duchess are hardly the most embarrassing thing that has happened to the royal family lately.
Why is Prince Harry suing the tabloids?
While Prince Harry and Markle were traveling through Africa, it was announced that the young prince had had enough of the media constantly trying to rogue his wife. In a letter that was made public, Prince Harry claimed that the media continued to spread lies about his wife and even edited a personal letter that Markle had written to her father to make her look bad.
Prince Harry said he could no longer stand still and watch the media take down his wife. He also said the media’s actions could potentially be dangerous to Duchess Meghan.
“This action may not be the safe one, it’s the right one,” Prince Harry said in the statement. “I have seen what happens when someone I love is so codified that they are no longer seen or treated as a real person.”
Not long after that letter was published, it was announced that Prince Harry would also sue The Sun and Daily Mirror for alleged illegal access to his telephone and private voicemails.

This afternoon, The Duke of Sussex attended a mental health workshop at Lambeth Palace hosted by The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. This event focused on how the church and community organisations can encourage youth to have an open conversation about their mental health, and how their faith and community can play a key role in that. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a close personal relationship with The Archbishop of Canterbury, who officiated their wedding and also oversaw the baptism of their son. The Duke was pleased to attend this special conference to lend his support to The Archbishop and highlight the important work being done to tackle mental health challenges, specifically for the younger generation. We can all come together, regardless of background, race, or religious affiliation, to support each other as a community and ensure we are putting our mental wellness first. Although many people are proud of Prince Harry for standing up for himself and his wife, there are many sources that claim that the royal family is not impressed by the recent lawsuits of the Duke of Sussex.
Cosmopolitan reports, citing Daily Express royal correspondent Richard Palmer, the royal family does not support the lawsuits and is in fact quite embarrassed by Prince Harry’s recent actions against the tabloids. In a tweet, Palmer stated that the entire royal family is trying to distance themselves from Markle and Prince Harry. Palmer further claims that “even the couple’s tools are embarrassed by their actions.”

This evening, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the annual #WellChildAwards in London. WellChild aims to ensure every child and young person living with serious health needs has the best chance to thrive with the support and medical care needed in the comfort of their own home. The Duke of Sussex became Patron of WellChild in 2007, and last year both The Duke and Duchess attended the awards to honour the children and families that WellChild supports. The Duke, who first came to these awards over a decade ago, shared in his remarks tonight: “Last year when my wife and I attended we knew we were expecting our first child – no one else did at the time, but we did – and I remember squeezing Meghan’s hand so tightly during the awards, both of us thinking what it would be like to be parents one day, and more so, what it would be like to do everything we could to protect and help our child should they be born with immediate challenges or become unwell over time. And now, as parents, being here and speaking to all of you pulls at my heart strings in a way I could have never understood until I had a child of my own.” • To find out more about tonight’s event and how you can support this very special organisation, please visit @WellChild Photos ©️ PA images
Although we can see why the royal family may not want the negative attention that a lawsuit might have, we find it hard to believe that they are actually ashamed of it. Certainly if you look at the controversy surrounding Prince Charles’s younger brother: Prince Andrew.
Earlier this year, multi-billionaire Jeffery Epstein was charged with illegal sexual acts, including girls who trade sex from the age of 14. Although it has not yet been confirmed, there are many speculations that Prince Andrew may have participated in the ill and illegal practices of Epstein.
Virginia Roberts Giuffre connected Prince Andrew with the inner circle of Epstein. In a recent interview on Dateline, Giuffre claimed that Prince Andrew first started abusing her when she was only seventeen years old and that Epstein “traded” her to Prince Andrew.
Although Prince Andrew’s involvement in the illegal sex addiction ring has not been confirmed, we would think that if the royal family would choose a family member to be ashamed of, they would choose the one who was a friend of a convicted sex offender, not the one trying to be keep woman safe.
