Mama June’s daughter Lauryn spoke candidly about how she saw her mother’s struggle with addiction and recovery. She also spoke about their strained relationship.

In a candid interview with ET Online, Lauryn talked about the difficulties of being a star of a reality series. She said it’s hard because she deals with everything personally. And then she also has to film it all. The star revealed that it’s been three shows in a row.

She confirmed that even the current season is hard because she has to go back to the past which puts her in a lot of “wear and tear” both physically and mentally. Her daughter says she doesn’t want to go back to the mental place she was in when her mother was an addict.

It was a hard time for her because she had to get up, do all the things and not look after herself well. Even after all the therapy and suicide, Lauryn doesn’t want to go back to her past.

In an interview, Mama June spoke openly about how she has now been sober for fourteen months after battling drug addiction and being arrested with her boyfriend Geno Doak.

Mama June previously confirmed that she and Geno Doak spent around $2,500 a day on drugs. And after her mother’s arrest, it was Lauryn who took legal custody of her 15-year-old younger sister.

Lauryn said her mother and she haven’t seen each other in a year now. So it seems that their relationship has become very complicated. She also told ET that moving on with her life and not being able to share these small moments with her mother is terribly difficult for her. “I think, not only for me, but for Alana, and even for Ella because she does love her Gigi. She does love being around her,” Lauryn said.
