90 Day Fiance, Lana and David Murphey’s Relationship Journey

Fans remember David Murphey almost being the victim of a long catfishing scandal. Unless Lana finally showed up at 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days the viewers were sure she was fooling him. Jokes were made about setting him up with Yolanda, another possible victim of cat fishing. The only quality David is sure of is the tenacity he clearly demonstrated during his stint at 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days

No matter how much the odds were against him, the reality TV star always managed to keep his spirits high. For example, Lana left him standing several times. But he never lost hope and kept trying to meet her. It seemed that his consistency paid off when Lana finally said yes to his proposal at the airport.

90 Day Fiance, Lana and David Murphey’s Relationship Journey

David Murphey and Lana met at a dating site where he claimed they were in love. However, when the rumors about catfish were in full swing and Lana was ghosting most of their scheduled meetings with David, he hired a private investigator. David’s detective made it clear that Lana was probably a scam because she was on 7-8 dating sites and the address she gave David was fake.

However, on his fifth visit, Lana showed up and confessed that her real name was Svetlana. From what started with a bowling date, their time with David eventually led to a proposal to her and she said yes.

David admitted that he had spent a total of $3-4k on Lana. He also revealed that she was going through a difficult time because of the way they portrayed her on the show. In the comment section of the photo of his retirement party, David defended Lana the whole time. He stated that the fans didn’t really know her enough to form an opinion. He also said she was exactly what he expected her to be.
