The Real Housewives of New Jersey just finished its 14th season. Gia Giudice, Teresa Giudice’s daughter, drew controversy again. Now 23 and a Rutgers grad, she’s aiming to be a lawyer. Growing up in the spotlight has its ups and downs. Gia values her voice on the show, but faces challenges too. Recently, she talked about the backlash from fans and co-stars on Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast.
“As much as I love having a voice on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, I also got a lot of backlash for it,” Gia revealed during the August 5 episode. Despite being an adult, Gia acknowledges that many viewers still see her as the young girl they watched grow up on the show. “They see me as, ‘Why are you getting involved?’ I think that’s the only difficult aspect of it.”
Targeted by Fellow Cast Members: “I’m Not Your Child”
A tough part of Gia Giudice’s role in RHONJ is the cast’s criticism, especially from John Fuda and Jackie Goldschneider. Gia expressed frustration with being a topic of conversation among the adult cast, especially since she’s not a Housewife herself. “I’m not your child, so why are you talking about me?” she wondered, addressing the uncomfortable position she’s often placed in.
Gia finds it “weird” when her name is mentioned on the show, and admitted that it makes her feel “very uncomfortable.” She pointed out that fans frequently criticize her for being involved in the drama, despite her efforts to stay out of it. “It’s not like I’m trying to be, trust me, I wanna be far away from all of this crazy,” Gia added.
Tension rose when John mentioned an analogy Jackie made about Gia in Season 11. Jackie had tried to deflect attention from rumors about her husband’s alleged cheating. However, this only dragged Gia into the feud.Financial Independence: Gia Stands on Her Own
Despite the drama, Gia Giudice wants to show she’s more than a reality TV star. She’s a financially independent young woman. Gia confirmed on the podcast that, contrary to belief, she no longer relies on her parents, Teresa and Joe Giudice, for money. “I am completely on my own… financially, I do cover everything myself,” she stated proudly.
One of Gia’s recent big wins was leasing her dream car, a Porsche. She saved diligently after graduation to do it. “That was, like, one of the biggest accomplishments that I was able to get myself a car, and I felt like I was signing my life away with all the dealership papers,” she shared. Gia is proud of her financial independence. People wrongly think she lives off her parents’ money.
Gia aims to invest in New Jersey real estate. Her father had success in it. Her goal is to purchase a two-family home, take out a mortgage, and begin building her own property portfolio. This ambition underscores Gia’s desire to forge her own path, separate from the shadow of RHONJ.
