Happy’s Place: Reba McEntire Reunites with Steve Howey on New NBC Sitcom - Get Ready for the Ultimate 'Reba' Throwback!

Reba McEntire is bringing the nostalgia back in a big way with a special holiday episode of her new NBC sitcom Happy’s Place. In the episode, McEntire will reunite with her former Reba co-star, Steve Howey, in a funny guest spot. Howey, known for Reba, will play Danny, a potential sperm donor for Melissa Peterman’s character, Gabby.

Airing during the Happy’s Place Christmas episode, “Ho-Ho-Howey,” Howey’s character could be the start of a series of guest appearances from Reba cast members. Showrunner Kevin Abbott, who worked on Reba, is excited. He said that Howey is the first of many potential reunions in the works. “We hope Steve’s character can come back,” Abbott teased. He added that more old cast members could join the show.

What to Expect from Howey’s Role as Danny

Fans will get to see Steve Howey step into a brand-new role, far from his previous stint as Van on Reba. In Happy’s Place, Howey’s character Danny becomes part of an amusing storyline when Peterman’s Gabby considers him as a potential sperm donor. Known for their comedic chemistry on Reba, Howey and Peterman are sure to deliver plenty of laughs.

As Abbott explained, “We want to bring the old cast members on, but in very different roles than what they played on Reba.” He hinted that JoAnna García-Swisher, who played Cheyenne on Reba, could be next, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

‘Happy’s Place’ Brings More Reba Stars Together

Along with Reba McEntire and Steve Howey, Happy’s Place already features another Reba alum: Melissa Peterman. In her new role, Peterman plays Gabby, a dramatic bartender with a flair for the dramatic, much like her beloved character Barbra Jean from Reba. Watching these iconic actors together again will be a treat for longtime fans of the 2000s sitcom.

Since its premiere, Happy’s Place has gained attention for its feel-good, heartwarming comedy. The addition of Howey to the cast is adding to the excitement. Fans can’t wait to see what this Reba reunion has in store.

Will There Be More Reba Reunions?

Steve Howey’s character is only set for the Christmas episode. But, Abbott has left the door open for more appearances. He hinted, “We’re hoping to bring Steve’s character back,” teasing that there might be more Reba reunions down the line.

Abbott has big plans to reunite the Reba cast but wants to ensure that each actor is given a role that matters. “We only want to have the old cast in if we can really utilize them in a fun, impactful way,” he explained.
