Hoda Kotb may have retired from her longtime role on The Today Show, but she’s far from disappearing. Her podcast, Making Space, is officially back for its seventh season-and this time, she’s not holding back the tears.
The first episode of the new season premiered on March 26, and Kotb kicked things off with former supermodel Elle Macpherson. Their conversation quickly became personal. Elle reflected on her struggle to find identity after her modeling career faded, telling Hoda, “I thought that was it. When I stopped having my youthful looks, then what?” Hoda connected deeply with that, sharing, “That’s sort of how I feel too… Who am I if I’m not anchoring the TODAY show?”
That raw honesty is exactly what fans love about Making Space. It’s not just celebrity stories-it’s real-life transformation, pain, and reflection. And it’s only getting deeper. Hoda revealed that some of the upcoming guests actually left her in tears.
Christina Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler Leave Hoda Kotb in Tears
In one of the most anticipated episodes of Season 7, Hoda will sit down with Christina Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. The two actresses co-host a podcast and both have multiple sclerosis. Their strength deeply moved Hoda.
“There was a moment that was so telling,” Hoda said, recalling Christina’s heartbreaking words: “I just want to boogie board again… I just want the basic things that I just had.” Hoda confessed, “My heart broke.” She went on to explain how deeply moved she was by the bond between Christina and Jamie-Lynn: “These two women are both going through the muck, but in it, they’re helping each other.”
This episode is already being talked about as one of the most moving of the season. Fans are bracing for an emotional rollercoaster, and Hoda isn’t hiding how much it affected her: “They made me weep.”

Life After Today: Hoda Kotb’s Still Got It
Even though Hoda stepped away from her co-hosting duties earlier this year, she’s still keeping a close eye on her Today family. Jenna Bush Hager recently revealed that Hoda hasn’t stopped supporting-or critiquing-her former co-hosts.
“She’s giving feedback,” Jenna told E! News. “She’s so supportive. You all know Hoda, she’s like the most supportive, amazing force. But she definitely is like, ‘Okay, that was great’ or ‘this is great.’ She definitely has opinions, which I love.”
Jenna admitted that Hoda’s exit hit her hard. “It was almost unthinkable that she wouldn’t be here,” she said. But she’s found a silver lining in her new reality, saying, “It’s kind of a lesson in making sure you tell the people you love you love them.”
In the meantime, Jenna has been hosting with an array of celebrity guests-including Dwyane Wade and Scarlett Johansson. But Hoda’s presence still looms large, offering wisdom from afar.
