The “Rock the Block” Season 6 finale crowned HGTV veterans Alison Victoria and Michel Smith Boyd as champions. However, their victory was immediately engulfed in controversy. Fans are crying foul, alleging a “rigged” win. Viewers point to the duo’s noticeably distant interaction post-announcement. A controversial “gifted” container is also at the center of the storm.
Rock the Block: Winners Alison & Michel “Don’t Engage AT ALL” Post-Win!
When 300 drones lit up the Utah sky, they announced a win worth $1,400,000. Alison and Michel’s reaction on the ground was quite revealing.”
Fans on Reddit and other social media platforms were quick to point out the chill. “It was very telling that after the win Allison and Michel don’t engage at all. You see them hug everyone but each other,” one viewer observed. Another confirmed, “It was crazy noticeable.” Even as host Ty Pennington interviewed them, they reportedly “didn’t even look at each other.”
Rock the Block: Fans Cry Foul, Point to “Gifted” Container & Alison’s Contract
The lack of a shared celebration fueled widespread speculation that the win was a setup. “It was so totally rigged I wouldn’t be surprised if we learn that her winning was written into her contract,” a scathing online comment read.
Many believe HGTV orchestrated Alison’s win, as it was her third attempt. “Alison crying all season that she wanted to finally win, come on HGTV viewers can see through this charade,” another fan posted.
Rock the Block: The Container Conundrum
A major point of contention is the shipping container ADU in Alison and Michel’s backyard. Fans argue this “gifted” container gave them an unfair edge. “I don’t see how it was fair for them to be gifted that container.
It never would have fit in their budget… but that is the reason they won,” a viewer asserted. Questions came up about where it started. One fan pointed out that the company is in Texas, even though Alison said there are “local connections.”” This container added two bedrooms and a bath. It boosted their home’s square footage and appraised value. Other teams couldn’t add bedrooms in the basement because of egress issues.

Rock the Block: Season-long Tension Bubbles Over?
The awkward finale moment wasn’t isolated, according to viewers. Many felt Alison and Michel displayed a poor team dynamic throughout the season. “They also consistently said ‘I’ the entire season.
They never said ‘we’,” a fan pointed out. After the early episodes, “they never appeared on camera together again.” It seemed they were working in separate spaces. “They wanted nothing to do with each other!!!” another exclaimed.
Rock the Block: Michel’s Solo Party & Cryptic “Tea”
Adding fuel to the fire, Michel Smith Boyd posted an Instagram video of himself preparing a “solo finale party.” When a fan directly asked, “what’s up with you and Alison?”
Boyd cheekily replied with “” emojis, strongly implying there was “tea” to spill. This response only intensified speculation about a rift.

Alison and Michel spent more than $20-thousand more on their kitchen then any of other teams and by the time they finished the main bedroom they were running out of money. The only reason you could be this wreck-less is one or both on them knew they would later receive an additional $50-thousand. Second, instead of a grand entry/foyer the space was enclosed and the rotating door is dangerous and accident waiting to happen. Third the backyard was plain and the Casita was two large storage bins with windows.
What makes this worse is how Jonathan Scott and Ty Pennington tried to oversell the house expecting the audience to somehow be swayed. Not only should people at HGTV be terminated for letting this happen and the participants such Alison, Michel, Jonathon and Ty their business relationships with HGTV should come to an end…
their house was the worst of the 3…
I mean 4, typo-
the other 3 were far superior overall.
