Milla Clark’s story on My 600-Lb Life is one of the most inspiring transformations the show has ever seen. In 2016, viewers first met Milla. She weighed 751 pounds and had been bedridden for over two years due to severe lymphedema.
Her five children had become her caretakers. Her husband, Elroy, struggled with his own health issues. Desperate to reclaim her life, Milla sought famed bariatric surgeon Dr. Now. His full name is Dr. Younan Nowzaradan.
Milla and her family moved from Fayetteville, Tennessee, to Houston, Texas, to join Dr. Now’s weight loss program. She lost 110 pounds through diet and exercise. Then, Dr. Now removed 43 pounds of tissue in surgery. Despite this, Milla feared falling, which delayed her from standing up.
However, with therapy and determination, she overcame her fears. A year later, she stood up for the first time, having lost 153 pounds. This achievement qualified her for bariatric surgery, a major turning point in her journey.
My 600-Lb Life: The Loss of Her Husband Elroy
In 2017, during a My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now? episode, tragedy struck Milla Clark’s family. Her husband, Elroy, passed away after complications from a minor vein repair surgery. He developed an infection, which led to a heart attack, and after prolonged attempts to resuscitate him, Elroy tragically died.
Milla was heartbroken. She could not say goodbye to her husband due to her physical limitations. The loss left her devastated, but she pressed on for the sake of her children.
Elroy’s death deeply affected Milla. She postponed her weight loss surgery, fearing her kids might be left without a parent if something went wrong. Yet, she eventually found the strength to proceed, aiming to keep her promise to her family and herself.

Milla’s Continued Success and Life After My 600-Lb Life
Two years after beginning her weight loss journey, Milla Clark’s hard work paid off. Dr. Now performed a successful gastric sleeve surgery, allowing her to drop even more weight. Eventually, Milla reached an astonishing milestone. She lost 596 pounds, going from 751 to 156.
Few participants in My 600-Lb Life have achieved this feat. Milla’s transformation didn’t stop there. She had multiple skin removal surgeries and a knee replacement. They let her walk again, without help.
After years of struggle, Milla was finally able to stand, walk, and enjoy life with her family. In a Where Are They Now? episode, Milla surprised her children by walking with a walker for the first time in seven years. Later, she even began walking without any aid at all, showcasing her incredible determination and resilience.
