The lives of Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton are on display for all to see on TLC, leaving viewers wondering where the 1000-lb Sisters live. Starting out with a combined weight of over 600 pounds, the sisters have since shed a few pounds after trying healthy diets.

It hasn’t been easy, however, as Tammy Slaton left rehab only to “eat one burger a day”, following in her sister Amy’s footsteps after surgery. During their weight-loss journey, fans have wondered where exactly the siblings live and if they have always lived there.

Tammy, Amy Slaton and their brother Chris are from Dixon. But they were both born in different places. Tammy was born in the state of Illinois and claims that younger sister Amy came into the world in the state of Indiana. They were raised by a single mother, Darlene.

The sisters grew up in a small town that is a total of 1.26 square miles. They were both attending Union High School when Tammy aspired to become a nurse.

It was there that Amy met her longtime boyfriend and now husband, Michael Halterman, whom she married in Nashville, Tennessee.

Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton were living together when 1000-lb Sisters started. However, Amy has since moved back home with her husband and son Gabe. At one point she allowed Tammy to live with her family.

Amy even slept with a baby monitor on Tammy Slaton to make sure nothing happened to her while she slept. When Tammy recently went to a rehabilitation centre to help her lose weight, Amy was happy because she wanted to see her sister get better.

At the same time, she wanted time to focus on her husband and child without having to care for Tammy Slaton , who weighs over 600 pounds. Now Tammy has a place of her own and lives next door to her sister Amy.
