‘Below Deck’: Jemele Hill’s mom didn’t like what she heard

Kate Chastain from Below Deck was having serious “Dean Slover” flashbacks about this charter when main guest Jemele Hill asked about her behavior.

This was the last charter of the season and Kate Chastain was exhausted. After another night of fighting with the crew, Captain Lee Rosbach blew up the team, insisting that he would fire anyone even a few days before the end of the season. Although Kate managed to put on his “stew face” to greet Jemele and his friends in the final primaries, Hill still felt like Kate didn’t feel his team.

She asked Kate if her group annoyed her or if Kate was angry. Kate insisted that she was not angry and kept her calm, but hit Hill behind the scenes. She recalled how guest Dean Slover from season two asked her to smile and gave her similar feedback. As a result, she received a rocket ship (penis-shaped) crease.

Jemele and chef Kevin Dobson appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. During the After Show, Hill’s mother called the show and launched herself into the Chastain. Jemele knew he was listening to his mother when Cohen said the first caller was “Denise from Michigan”. Jemele couldn’t contain his laughter when he prepared for his mother’s question. “I knew it! Mom! Why are you calling?” Jemele laughed and laughed.

Hill’s mother was serious and said Kate Chastain referred to Jemele as a bitch. “And I think you weren’t hard enough on her, because straddling the previous tweet, it’s like Kate’s attitude went totally negative, because her attitude was to do you all a favor by spending all that money to be on the yacht,” said Hill’s mother as Jemele sat in the clubhouse laughing and creaking. “It was like that with several guests!”

“Mother, that’s why you’re my ride or die,” remarked Jemele . “You will call! I love you so much.” Meanwhile, Hill’s mother emphatically added, “Nobody calls my baby ‘bitch’ and gets away with it!”

Hill kept laughing while his mother kept ranting. But she made her relationship with Chastain clear. “Can I clarify the situation?” Hill said to Cohen. “So yes, obviously Kate and I, while tweeting tonight, started out in a hopeless place. We ended up in a great place.”

He added, “I’ve seen enough of the show and I understand her moods and whatnot. I don’t know her as well as you do because you’re always with her,” she said, gesturing Dobson.

Hill said, “I didn’t take it personally. I was fine with it.” After the initial meeting, Hill apologized to Chastain, and the two seemed to come to an agreement.

During the show, Chastain tweeted, “Seriously, I am so happy to say that @jemelehill and his friends were my favorite charter guests of all time. I wouldn’t have minded having them on board another week. Hill said, “We found love in a hopeless place, Kate. You’re the best.”
