Flip or Flop: Christina Haack Sold The Home For A Loss

Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa may be the main presenters of Flip or Flop, but there is a history behind their HGTV show. They used to live together in Yorba Linda before Christina ended up selling the home at a loss. The former couple lived in the five-bedroom, nine-bathroom house with ex-husband Tarek until 2018.

Taking full advantage of their renovation skills, Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa originally bought the home for $2 million before adding almost as many improvements, which cost an additional $1.5 million.

Next to the five bedrooms, a 6,366-square-metre, Mediterranean-style home that Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa completely rebuilt and eventually became their dream home. It featured a rock pool and spa with waterfall, plus a waterslide and grotto, outdoor kitchen, barbecue and beer fountain, and a putting green.

Not to mention a two-storey dining room, a home cinema and a technical centre! Truly one of a kind, the home also features a fireplace, soaking tub, walk-in closets and seamless glass shower.

Christina Haack was able to find a buyer for her Yorba Linda home very quickly, for $2.925 million. The sale took place in 2018, several years after they first bought the property in December 2013 for $2 million.

After putting the house on the market in March, she had originally asked $2,995. And despite a small loss, the home was put on escrow just two weeks after going on the market!

Tarek now lives in a new home with wife Heather, while Christina bought a $10 million house in Dana Point. When their divorce was finalised in January 2018, Tarek El Moussa bought a three-bedroom house in Costa Mesa on 21 February. Recently, however, he surprised his children with the family’s new home in Newport Beach, California.

Heather and Tarek originally bought the place with plans to flip it before deciding to keep the property. However, things were delayed after the home suffered significant flood damage during renovations.
