Sister Wives: Meri Brown’s Drama With Kody Brown is A Driving Force On The Show

TLC has become known for its ability to find interesting individuals, families and personalities to bring on its reality television shows. In 2010, TLC did it again with what would prove to be one of its greatest shows, Sister Wives. The show followed Kody Brown and his family as they lived their lives as a polygamist family.

When the show first aired, Kody Brown and his three wives, Meri Brown, Janelle and Christine were in the midst of courting another woman, Robyn Brown, and the two eventually married. This made Robyn the fourth wife in the Brown family.

Although Meri Brown was the first wife, and thus the only wife legally bound to Kody, this changed in 2014. In order for Kody to legally adopt Robyn’s children from a previous marriage, Kody had to divorce Meri and marry Robyn Brown. They followed through and Kody was eventually able to adopt Robyn Brown’s children.

In recent years, the Brown’s have seen their fair share of obstacles, especially between Kody and Meri. This tension has been a constant point of focus over the past few seasons of the show.

Meri Brown and Kody Brown had experienced some tension on the show over the course of their seasons. Her insecurities were often at the center of the couple’s arguments, although it seemed they could always work it out.

In 2015, however, Meri was the victim of a catfishing scandal that rocked the family. It turned out that the problems Kody and Meri were dealing with had her looking outside the marriage for some validation.

Meri met a man online and fell in love. But, all was not as it seemed. It turned out that the man Meri had turned to for comfort was actually a woman who decided to catfish Meri. The scandal was difficult for the Brown family to overcome, and the rift between Meri and Kody deepened.
