Bethenny Frankel has quickly become a fan favorite on The Real Housewives Of New York City. Frankel is an OG housewife, having joined the first season of RHONY in 2008. Bethenny finally left RHONY for good in 2019, but fans always want to see her return to the show. But Bethenny has reasons why she will most likely never return to the show.
Being a Season 1 OG housewife among the Bravo community is a big deal to fans. Bethenny Frankel stayed on Real Housewives Of New York City until season three and didn’t return until season seven. The eleventh season debuted in 2019, and marked Frankel’s last season.
Fans were not thrilled with her departure. Bethenny is among the most open-minded housewives, and fans know a lot about her life and background because it was shared on the show and in her Bravo spinoff series Bethenny Ever After.
Bethenny said she started the show because she was “broke and didn’t have anything to lose.” During the show, Bethenny Frankel made some remarkable friendships with other castmates. Bethenny and Jill Zarin were best friends during the first few seasons of the show. When Bethenny returned in season seven, she became friends with Carole Radziwill.
However, the two had a huge falling out in season 10 and never spoke to each other again. Eventually, Bethenny Frankel became close friends with Dorinda Medley, who is still her friend and appears on her Instagram account often.
Will Bethenny Frankel Return To The Real Housewives Franchise?
The short answer is no. But Bethenny Frankel had quite a bit to say about why she would never return. Season 13 has plummeted in views, and fans blame Bethenny’s departure. They also believe that bringing her back would “save” the show. In a tweet, Bethenny thanked fans for their messages and support about her time on the show. She also thanked Bravo, but made it pretty clear that she was happy where she is now without the show in her life.
On her Just B With Bethenny Frankel podcast, she went into some detail about her thoughts on the show that fans have been curious about. Bethenny went on to say that she believes the franchise has lost “authenticity” and is not the same as it was when it started. The only way that would come is if the show brought that same authenticity season one has brought back.
Bethenny Frankel has been known for her outspoken humor on the show and in her confessionals. So it was no surprise when Bethenny said that the show now lacks the humor that she once brought. In the season 12 premiere of RHONY, fans got to see the raw reactions of the cast when they found out Bethenny wasn’t coming back.
Ramona Singer and Luann de Lesseps seemed happy about her departure while Dorinda Medley and Sonja Morgan were sad.
