Some viewers are angry with Captain Sandy Yawn of Below Deck Mediterranean and the captain hopes to clarify the situation during an Instagram Live on Tuesday, August 11.
Spectators have been lashing out at Yawn on social media calling her a micromanager and over-criticising her crew. She was dragged particularly hard when chef Hindrigo “Kiko” Lorran was fired. Lorran was heard sobbing in his berth after he and Yawn decided it was time to leave the boat. Yawn and stew boss Hannah Ferrier have also made it clear that their working relationship is over, as Ferrier has shadowed Yawn on several occasions.
Many fans quickly sided with the majority who sided with Ferrier and Lorran. Although our neighbor Malia White’s return was initially applauded, she too is now the center of attention. Some viewers are convinced that she, Yawn, and second stew Christine “Bugsy” Drake conspired to replace Ferrier and Lorran with new crew members.

In a bold move, Yawn said she wanted to face anger instead of hiding from it. “Hi everyone! I understand some of you are spitfire mad at me,” she shared on Instagram. “I’m giving you the opportunity to jump on Facebook and Instagram live to share your feelings.”
“InIn today’s world hate can be a cancer and it’s never my intention to hurt anyone on this planet,” she continued. “II know it’s hard to understand why things go down like they do and sometimes the person in charge can make some mistakes. That’s right we are all human beings trying to get it right everyday we wake up, dress up and show up to a very stressful job. Somedays are better than others. I’m open to all you criticism and concerns. This is your opportunity to have your say in person to me”.

Some current crew members showed support for Yawn on the wire. Third stew Jessica More and White shared positive emojis. “Note but love and respect for you @captainsandrayawn and @maliakpwhite,” says breeding stallion Robert Westergaard. Yawn’s girlfriend Leah Shafer also reminded us that Yawn is loved.
Tracy Tutor of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles also commented. “I don’t know who’s crazy. You’re fantastic! All I can say is that you’re in someone’s shoes one day before you pass judgment,” she wrote.

the snake here is Malia White. She’s has proved that she hasn’t changed from the first time she was on the show. She will do what ever it takes to get her way.
Capt. Is showing her favorites. It was wrong to switch cabins. And wrong for Malia or whatever her name is to go tattling to the Capt. Hannah won’t switch cabins and let me sleep with my boyfriend boohoo. My teacher had a tattle tail we would have to wear if we did what white did.
Captain Sandy is a very good Captain and shows love to all crew members including Hannah even when she was dead wrong. It’s time for Hannah to go. I’ve watched her treat some of the ladies beneath her badly as I’ve watched the show weekly. If they stand up to her she gives them a very hard time and talks about them with which ever crew member that’s kiss up to her. Malia can be very mean and needs to lighten up on the guys. Malia really uses her title to remind them of her power constantly. Malia ran to Captain Sandy for every little thing that could’ve been handled by her if she knew how to talk to her people.
I hate this show since Sandy has been the captain. Never see other Captains up in other peoples xxses as she is. Your the captain stay in your room and just do your job and drive the damn boat.And Malia, don’t get me started on her. She has kissed peoples butts to get where she is at now, her ex to get to lead deck and whoever else butt to get Bosen. Not a people person that’s for sure. Probably not going to watch this show anymore because of those 2 women who are just trying to push their weight around.

I too am disappointed with Captain Sandy. I’m sad cause I really liked her. I will watch this Monday to see what goes down with Hannah. I may be done with this series. Malia is a mean girl. How would you like it. If Captain Lee’s boat was out of commission and the co put him in as chief engineer. Right there to take over your boat at any second. Actually you might watch your back now. Malia is pleasing on the eyes however what a snitch. It was not like Hannah had heroin. Also how did she know Hannah didn’t clear it with sand. Y . It was a legal script.

I still don’t think Captain Sandy knows that Hannah was behind to screw up up of the chef. She’s the one that told him what to make that day for Las Vegas food. That’s why her anxiety was so bad that night when he got fired because she knew she did all that wrong and set him up like that. Does Captain Sandy know that?
Bottom line is Captain Sandy shows favoritism to Malia. Malia is not married to this guy and yet she more or less demanded her way. She is a mean girl.
Did Hanna deserve to lose her job because of prescription drugs? Yes. There are rules in place for the safety of the crew and guest. She should have reported it to Capt. Sandy before the season. But Melia’s timing of her pictures are very suspect.
I love Hanna and will miss her. I am probably going to stick with Captain Lee’s team in the future.
BTW Captain Sandy needs to stop disciplining the crew in front of others it’s bad leadership!!!!

I know in my 67 years of being a business owner/ manager , you must know ythe people working for you. Not just at work but a FULL RESUME. I saw how capt sandy interviewed the new chef, and was astonished how little she knew about him. I feel Hannah definitly threw Kiko under the bus , why we’ll never know. But when you have camaras whatching everyone , All the captains on the ships should be reviewing tapes every night , just to get an insight of whats going on below deck. My family had a yacht in Ft Lauderdale years ago , and i know what must be done to keep your crews work seperate from personal realationships. No personal relationships should be allowed during season.
Malia needs reeled in fast! As she puts it too often, “my boys”, “my crew”, “my guys” won’t put up with the power trip she’s got going on. Being good at your job includes showing RESPECT, Malia! She shows no respect for the guys she’s leading and absolutely none for her superior, Hannah about the bed arrangements! Whether Hannah was being fair or not, it was absolutely Hannah’s call and the little snivler went running to Capt Sandy again! I’ve always had absolute respect for Capt Sandy but why did she react each time Malia cried to her? Malia is in a leading role and she should have been told, just like Hannah was, to “make it work!” Instead, Capt Sandy held Malia’s hand and fixed everything each time! That won’t do! Capt Sandy, you’re a born leader so did anyone hold your hand each time you asked them to? ABSOLUTELY NOT! It worries me what Malia is capable of. Also Hannah lost her spark last season and has stepped out of her role since. leaving the crew to fend for themselves. So I think this is the best thing that could’ve happened to Hannah she just doesn’t know it yet.
Captain Sandy was bothering and distracting Kiko when he was cooking. When I am in my kitchen I get anxiety by anybody looking over my shoulder. Poor kiko had Sandy’s presence in galley most of the time. Sandy is to blame. Furthermore Malias position has gone to her head…..
First, I’d like to say that I have nothing but respect and admiration for Captain Sandy. I also live in the Denver area and my fantasy is to run into her someday and say, “hi.” At the time she couldn’t have known how beloved Kiko would become to the whole world. But, what bothers me about the Kiko situation is (and forgive me if this has been mentioned before) why, when chef Adam deliberately put onions in the charter guest’s food when it said on his preference sheet NO ONIONS, wasn’t he let go at the end of the charter as well.

I side with Hannah and the chef. Captain Sandy was here there and everywhere micromanaging and although I grew to like her a little bit more as the season goes on she caused a lot of stress. The guests on some of the weeks were extremely demanding and their requests for short order type meals got out of hand. Melia is a bit full of herself.
Captain Sandy has remarkable patience with her crew. Quit acting like spoiled kids and do your job. Quit the backstabbing and go to work. I am so disappointed in Malia. She did her shifty deed out of spite to Hannah. Quit acting like your shit don’t stink, honey I can smell it from here. Capt.Sandy you’re the bomb.
I think this was the whole plan from the start. John wanted Malia to bring her boyfriend to replace Kiko and bugs to replace Hannah.

Malia is the problem . I was shocked when she ran to Capt Sandy , telling on Hannah , futher more Kiko was great and the tip represented that, he shouldn’t of been fired . Malia needs to go.
I hope Captain Sandy apologized to Kiko for firing him because of one bad meal that Hannah told him to prepare. The guests all told him what a pleasure it was to have him cook for them. And, I agree Malia is a snake. I wonder if firing Kiko was just so her boyfriend could take his place. He was on his way to visit a sick relative in the UK with all of his clothes, but had time to cook. I am reconsidering watching the show
Sandy definitely seems to be trying to push Hannah out this season. She KNEW that Malia and Hannah have a past. But they were getting through it. Then when they needed a second stew, Sandy calls in Bugsy?!? Once again knowing that Bugsy and Hannah do not get along. Bugsy and Malia are both trouble makers and mean girls when together. Funny, Malia wasn’t worried about her licensing for the first half of the season. When Hannah maturely explained why she didn’t want to room with Bugsy and vice versa, it sent Malia into a baby fit. She went and tattled to Sandy, who gee, big shocker, took Malia’s side. So all of the sudden, Malia is oh-so-concerned over her license? So much so that she took a photo of Hannah’s things and sent it to Sandy. It was blatant, underhanded, and malicious way to get Hannah into trouble. And Andy Cohen was sure quick to jump in and defend poor Malia and Sandy.

Melia should have done what a boss would Normally do. Tell Hannah to tell the Captain or she will. Give her the choice. One boss turning in another boss just to make yourself look good is not mature, Nor shows any kind leadership on her part. Work it out before you destroy someone’s job. I’m glad Sandy doesn’t let the crew push her around anymore but it’s also possible to go too far in the other direction. Bugsy was fomenting hate towards Hannah from day one. Malia has issues with penis envy and she’s already proven last season to be extremely manipulative and duplicitous. Well done to BDM producers casting this season for maximum conflict!
“Captain” Sandy has harassed and criticized Hannah for 3 seasons. She was well aware of Hannah’s panic episodes. Malia White is an absolute snake who illegally photographed medications, tattle taled to Sandy who, heartlessly, turned on Hannah, gave favoritism
to the snake Malia, and the other snake, passive aggressive Bugsy.
Further, “Captain”Sandy treated Chef Lorran like dog crap. It was wrenching to hear
him sobbing. I wanted to drop kick”Captain” Sandy over the side of the boat and watch
her sink to the depth that she dragged him to emotionally.
She does NOT deserve her role as a leader given her behavior as a micromanager,
hypercritical, judgmental, favoritism playing, and outright nastiness especially
toward Hannah, while overlooking worse transgressions by others she favored.

on Below Deck. He is ALWAYS fair and just.
In my measured opinion, all three women, “Captain” Sandy, and the snakes Malia
and Bugsy should be fired. Maybe by paying the price they will learn humility and

Malia should also lose her license for her illegal spying and taking pictures to publish.

upon 3 season of observations of a woman who in no way measures up to the
management standards she prates on about, demands from others, and then betrays
through her own reactions an actions.
People in leadership roles should have a college education in management before

in their own role. I am a willing to bet “Captain” Sandy won’t own up and will blame

Maleah acted like a spoiled child when Hannah refused to move cabins, and Sandy saw that but instead of using that as a teaching monent for Maleah, sandy played mean girl right along side of Maleah. Boy both of them have done nothing to help women in leader positions!!

Sandy wrecked another season. Always eager to teach a crew member something new, Malia gets a crash course in yachting skills. Crazy bitch 3rd stew quits (good! Arrogant c***). Malia suggests her BFF as a replacement. What are the odds? After Sandy perches on Kilos shoulder, she winds up needing a new chef.
Malia has the perfect solution. Her boyfriend is a chef. Wow what a coincidence.. God I hate when that happens. Then Malia sets her sights on Hannah over getting fucked daily. Why? Because she can.
I admit that Hannah wasn’t the same. Seemed distracted. The Vegas fiasco was her doing. Everyone knows casinos are all about buffets.
When Malia got all butt hurt over sleeping arrangements she made sure to throw Hannah under the bus. Valium is a prescribed medication. 5mg ain’t nothing. I know from experience.
Captain Lee pretty much stayed in the wheelhouse. Sandy has a tender heart, but her primary job is to steer the fricking boat.
I am some unhappy, the photo was sent after Hannah didn’t want to switch rooms, and if busy was truthful she didn’t want to switch either, but then changed her mind for bosun milia, to be the friend or cover her a** , just cause milia wasn’t getting her way, boyfriend came after crew set up so no privilege should be given so you can have sex, alot of back stabbing, and stop being I’ll have your back but really you don’t. Yes Hanna isn’t always nice but she is chief stew, you should respect that. You want respect for being bosun. I will watch next show to see how it is handled. But I feel they want her gone so bugsy will move up to chief stew, we’ll see what happens. I like bugsy don’t get me wrong, but all knew her and Hannah weren’t friends from the start.
I find it so ironic that after the blow up with Hannah, Malia finds valium in the cabin that they have shared since day one! Malia, I admired you this season but you are nothing but a snitch. I hope your boyfriend is worth all the stains you put on these last two charters. Spiteful! Team Hannah.

I’m disappointed in two things… First there was the way that the captain handled the firing of the chef… Firing him and then expecting him to continue working is a bit much. How quickly she forgot how amazing he was when he had to produce 72 plates in that tiny galley for the other guests on their charter. Hannah was actually the one that suggested the menu for that Las Vegas themed dinner.
The second thing I was disappointed with was the fact that Malia found it necessary to take that photo of Hannah’s prescription meds and email it to the captain. She should have asked Hannah if the captain was aware of her having them and if not give her the chance to go to the captain herself . She might have already made her cabin switch as she has said but I still think there was some spite involved with her doing what she did
