Janelle Brown has hired a lawyer to resolve an issue with Coyote Pass, the family’s 14-acre property in Flagstaff, Arizona. During a recent episode of Sister Wives, Janelle revealed to Christine Brown, her husband David Woolley, and her daughter Madison that she had retained legal counsel to finally separate her share of the property from Kody Brown.
“I’ve found one and I put the retainer down,” Janelle shared during the group video call. “I’m just going to be going for separation of assets.” Janelle explained that Kody has repeatedly dodged her requests to discuss the future of the property, saying, “He’s always putting me off.”
Janelle Brown confirmed the property is paid off. She’s frustrated by Kody’s refusal to plan its sale or division. “Let’s just get it sold,” Janelle vented in her confessional. “But it’s just crickets.”

Sister Wives: Meri Brown Left Out of the Equation?
The issue of fairness regarding Coyote Pass’s division is further complicated by Kody’s alleged favoritism. Janelle Brown said, due to the property’s title, Meri Brown would get compensation for only 1.5 acres of the 14-acre plot if it were sold today.
“Meri would be at a disadvantage,” Janelle explained. However, Meri’s disadvantage appears tied to Kody Brown’s past comments. Earlier in the episode, Meri confided that Kody once told her she wasn’t “entitled” to an equal share because she only has one child with him.
For now, Janelle remains hopeful that legal intervention will help ensure fairness. “I’m going to have a lawyer who’s not emotionally involved,” she said. “What are we doing? Because [Kody] is very wishy-washy.”

Sister Wives: Kody Brown’s Plan to Divide the Property
Despite Janelle Brown’s skepticism, Kody insists he plans to divide the proceeds fairly. “When we sell, I’m going to divide the money four ways. My wife, me, and the two exes,” he claimed.
However, Kody Brown also acknowledged the lack of trust among his ex-wives, saying, “Divorce just takes away all trust.” Still, Christine, Janelle, and Meri remain doubtful of Kody’s promises, given his history of prioritizing Robyn Brown and her family.
