My 600-lb Life: Where Is Annjeannette , The Star Of ‘My 600-lb Life,’ Now?

Annjeannette Whaley has struggled with food addiction for most of her life. She claims her weight problems started after losing her mother, who was a drug addict. She died of a heroin overdose when Annjeannette was a little girl. When Whaley was 9, a campaign was started to send her to fat camp. She was embarrassed and ashamed to go out in public.

She soon realized she’d have to fight to get her life back on track. Although she was ready to make drastic changes, the San Diego resident found it difficult to get rid of her food addiction. Annjeannette commented that the food helped her cope with the pain.

So, not surprisingly, she weighed about 679 pounds when she went to Dr. Now. However, determined to improve, Whaley followed the doctor’s strict diet, increased her daily exercise and limited her access to food. She managed to lose 274 pounds and was approved for surgery. Despite the tough break she faced, Annjeannette never deviated from her course.

Whaley’s Facebook profile indicates that she still lives in Houston and is working with Dr. Now to improve. Other than that, she’s pretty private about her life, since her Instagram profile is not accessible without her permission.

The last update on Annjeannette comes in April 2020. It is known that she has sued the exhibition, in particular Megalomedia, the company behind “My 600-lb Life”. Like the other plaintiffs, Whaley claimed that the company left her unpaid medical expenses, with great financial loss. Whaley’s complaint lists the following: she followed Dr. Now’s program and got corrective surgery. But, she has now been left in abeyance. That makes her the eighth cast member to sue the producers.

Despite what could happen in Whaley’s life personally or legally, she has managed to continue her journey, which is commendable. If you look at her posts, you can find motivational posts, like the one attached below. This only reinforces her determination to continue her journey to achieve her goal.
