In Season 12 of My 600-lb Life, Rose Perrine met Dr. Now with skepticism. She told him she was motivated.
Then, she questioned why her family traveled over nine hours from Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Houston, Texas. They made this trip just to hear that changing eating habits was the first step to weight loss.
Rose felt her weight was limiting her life. She missed spending time with her family, especially her truck driver fiancé, Russel. Her irregular heartbeat made it necessary for her to use an oxygen tank at night.
She could walk but often used a motorized wheelchair for longer distances. Her daughter-in-law, Samantha “Sam” Kingston, helped with everyday tasks.

At 546 pounds, Rose’s journey began. After several months of dieting and a heart check, Dr. Now approved her for surgery. She lost 171 pounds.
However, maintaining weight loss after surgery is a challenge.
