My 600-lb Life: How Rose Perrine Dropped Over 170 Pounds and Found Herself Again

In “My 600-lb Life” Season 12, episode 5, titled “Rose’s Journey,” we met Rose Perrine. She aimed to improve her physical and emotional health. Her journey on the TLC show was full of challenges.

Rose, from “My 600-lb Life,” is no longer on Facebook. Her current whereabouts are unknown. Despite many obstacles, she has not regained weight.

Rose trusted Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, also known as Dr. Now. She worked hard to meet her weight loss goals. Her main goal was to be with her fiancé and 11 grandchildren.

Before her surgery in Houston, Rose unexpectedly became the guardian of her daughter’s kids, Abby and Alix. This development, though surprising and challenging at 58, drove her to succeed.

My 600-lb Life: Challenges and Triumphs

Rose Perrine, RJ, and Sam traveled to Houston. She hadn’t checked her weight in 20 years, then found out it was 564 pounds. She had expected it to be higher.

After seeing Dr. Now, Rose began a diet and exercise plan. Her goal was to lose 50 pounds in two months.

She kept up with her exercises and often included her grandkids, Abby and Alix.

At her third-month check-up, she was at 497 pounds. Everyone was pleased. Dr. Now suggested she talk to her cardiologist about weight loss surgery.

Rose struggled in the following months. Fears about her heart made her eat more sweets and skip exercises. She was anxious about her next check.

In the fifth month, she had only lost 492 pounds. This was disappointing, and she was honest with Dr. Now.

She hoped moving to Houston would help. With the kids gone, she thought she’d have less access to sweets. Her cardiologist approved Dr. Now’s request to lose another 50 pounds.

By the seventh month, she was down to 449 pounds. Her weight loss operation was set for the next month. Dr. Now advised her to keep going with her routine.

She lost 12 pounds more before the operation in the ninth month. It went well. In the tenth month, Rose weighed 393 pounds.
