My 600-lb Life: Janine’s Story

Janine Mueller is originally from Seattle, but later moved to Houston to be close to Dr. Now. When we first met her, she weighed 621 pounds. She showed up at the show saying, “When I wake up in the morning, my body hurts so bad and the pain in my joints is so bad that it hurts in ways I never dreamed I would.

Janine was forced to use an electric scooter to get from one place to another. Her weight was so massive that her knees were under constant pressure, which weakened them. But she avoided being bedridden like most stars of the show.

When the episode ended, she reduced her weight to 566 pounds. Despite the weight loss, she didn’t get the surgeon’s approval for the gastric bypass. But rather than get depressed or whine about it, she decided to work on herself. She stated that her ultimate goal was to get approval for knee surgery, abandon the scooter and go dancing!

One of the rarest success stories of ‘My 600-lb Life’, Janine has made a surprising transformation. In her last weigh-in, she weighed only 300+ pounds, which is almost half her original body mass. Yes, she was finally given the green light for bariatric surgery.

In September 2019, Janine posted a long status on her Facebook profile, once free of TLC contractual obligations.

In the post, she explained that she loves and serves Jesus Christ, which, according to her, was published in the exhibition. She added: “I am looking at new initiatives, business and job opportunities, public conferences and ministerial commitments. I am still volunteering with cat rescue and trying to connect with other ways to serve others in the Houston area.

TLC also had a man who was dating Janine at the time of filming. But she confirmed that they are not together anymore. But her cat, Prince, is still with her and is her only roommate. After her farewell message, Janine continues to post inspiring quotes on her Facebook wall. She is still in Texas and went on holiday in October 2019 (without needing a seatbelt extender!).

Janine currently works as an executive for Paparazzi Accessories. From her posts, it seems that the star of reality is living the life of her dreams. She goes on vacation often and in December 2019, she had a gala moment with her childhood friend and family.
