Sister Wives: Meri and Janelle Brown Lawyer Up as Kody's Coyote Pass Plans Unravel

In a heated video call, Meri and Janelle Brown shared their frustration over Kody’s reluctance to make clear decisions about the future of Coyote Pass. Meri made it clear she’s not backing down, telling Janelle, “I don’t think [Kody] get[s] to decide what we do with it. Sorry, you are not, like, the head of my family.”

Meri Brown’s frustration stems from years of feeling left out of major family decisions. She explained in her confessional, “I feel like Kody and Robyn probably have some plan of what they want to do and how they want to handle it… none of us are talking to each other because none of us trust each other.”

The land, purchased for $820,000 in 2018, was originally intended to be developed into homes for Kody’s four wives. However, three of those marriages—Christine’s, Janelle’s, and Meri’s—have since dissolved. This leaves the future of Coyote Pass uncertain. Christine sold her stake in the property to Kody and Robyn for just $10 in 2022, but Meri and Janelle Brown remain financially tied to the land.

Sister Wives: Janelle Brown Breaks Her Silence: “I Need a Lawyer”

Janelle Brown is no longer willing to stay quiet as Kody drags his feet. During her conversation with Meri, she revealed her next steps.

“I think it’s time for somebody to be pushing my interests,” Janelle said firmly. “I probably will get a lawyer. In fact, I’ve been talking to one. I hope you feel like that for you too.”

Meri echoed Janelle’s sentiments, admitting that she’s also ready to take a stand. “I do,” Meri responded. “Because it’s been a year and a half since the last time I had that conversation with Kody.”

Meri Brown later elaborated in her confessional: “There’s been a lot of confusion surrounding the way things have been done in the family… So I think that’s why I’m going to get a lawyer to help through this process. I will push the issue now.”

Sister Wives: Kody and Robyn Brown at Odds Over Coyote Pass

While Meri and Janelle Brown prepare to fight for their fair share, Kody and Robyn Brown appear to be at odds over what to do with the land.

“We’re in different places and it’s an in and out,” Kody admitted in a clip shared with Us Weekly. “It’s like sometimes I want to keep it, sometimes I want to sell it. And Robyn knows we need to sell it but sometimes wants to keep it.”

Kody’s indecision has only fueled suspicions from his ex-wives, who believe he’s dragging his feet to avoid dividing the property fairly. With Meri and Janelle Brown seeking legal help, it’s clear they’re done playing nice.
