The View: Behar Often Clashes With Meghan Mccain

Joy Behar has been a staple of The View from the beginning. The comedian was part of OG’s cast when the ABC talk show was first presented in 1997. Behar’s one-liners have always characterized her for easing the tension during heated political debates. However, her time to retire is approaching and the political analyst has revealed when she intends to do so.

After 21 seasons of daytime talk shows,Behar said she plans to retire when her current contract expires. Behar acknowledges she signed up until the summer of 2022, which is two years from now.

“I have a three-year contract,” Behar said in an interview for the book Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View. But that doesn’t mean I can’t leave if I want to, because at this point they can’t do anything to me”. I can’t see myself staying there for longer [time]. That’s all! I might be wrong. If I’m as fabulous in [2022] as I am now, I’ll think about it. But the chances of that happening…”.

Variety’s nonfiction book Ramin Setoodeh explores the behind-the-scenes drama of the ABC show over the years.

Joy Behar has been with the show from the beginning, missing only two seasons between 2013-2015. The comedian was let go when the show went in a less political direction. With the ratings dropped, the producers changed course and brought Behar back.

Ever since Meghan McCain joined The View, she’s been training with Behar. The two ladies are on opposite sides of the political spectrum and clash over their ideas. There have been many reports that they don’t get along, but Behar said the conservative co-host has occasionally influenced her political views.

“Like today, I was talking about how, you know, I think a moderate should win the election to beat [President Donald] Trump. Originally, I would have said I wanted Elizabeth Warren because she was an exciting new person. But I’m not sure she could do it. So, now I’m back to reality and I think you’ve changed your positions a little bit, moderated them, changed them,” Behar told McCain during an interview with Entertainment Tonight in November 2019.

The View: Joy Behar İs İn quarantine

Currently,Behar is in self isolation and was the first View co-host to do so after the coronavirus pandemic. After taking a week off the show, the co-host came back via Skype to talk about her time in quarantine.

“The point is this. This kind of rest is exhausting for me,” she said. I’m more lethargic than normal.” I couldn’t keep five feet away from my fridge, I can get out of this morbidly obese debacle, it’s possible.

Joy Behar never loses her sense of humour and explains her daily routine in an exhilarating way.

“My activities included bathing Bernie, my dog, and the eggplant – you’re supposed to bathe the vegetables as well,” she continued. “Last night there was a Zoom session with people I normally have great conversations with. I had a glass of wine and fell completely asleep. I mean, I can’t even get excited about getting out of the house and cleaning up, which I had to do.”

However, staying home and watching Donald Trump deal with the health crisis is not good for Behar. “I find it very annoying, very nerve-wracking, and my hatred for Trump increases regularly,” she said.
