90 Day Fiance star Evelin Villegas is still not a fan of marriage. The TLC star has made it clear that she’s not in favor of the concept, despite marrying Corey Rathgeber. Here’s what she has to say about it.
Earlier this month, Corey and Evelin Villegas shocked everyone with their secret wedding. The 90 Day Fiance couple confessed their true status on the show, which sparked mixed reactions online. During an episode of The Other Way, Evelin dropped the bombshell revelation to her family, which didn’t sit well with them. Corey Rathgeber , on the other hand, shared more details on social media.
He revealed that they didn’t tell anyone because “Evelin wasn’t ready for her family or anyone to know she had gotten married” to him. However, Corey Rathgeber said that their wedding day was very memorable, even with only two strangers as witnesses.
Corey also explained that they “didn’t feel obligated to inform” the production team because the wedding happened after filming the first season.
Meanwhile, Evelin Villegas still doesn’t believe in the concept of marriage. This is despite being married to Corey Rathgeber for over a year.
Evelin goes so far as to compare marriage to a “contract.” “People want to put romance into what is really a contract,” she said. “True romance is being with someone just because you love them without forcing them to legally sign the paper to be with you forever.”
90 Day Fiance: Evelin Says Show Has Nothing To Do With Their Marriage
Despite her stance on marriage, Evelin Villegas ended up marrying Corey Rathgeber. The 90 Day Fiance star said she did it because she loves him. “Sometimes, you got to do things that you don’t want to give happiness to the person you love,” she added.
Evelin also clarified that their decision to get married had nothing to do with the show. The reality star said that she insists 90 Day Fiance is simply a platform for them to share their real-life story.
