Is Owen Dead In Grey’s Anatomy?

ABC’s medical drama Grey’s Anatomy originally aired in 2005 and was an instant success before becoming a major television event. Admittedly, series such as “E.R.” proved that medical dramas are a recipe for success. But “Grey’s Anatomy” is a different beast, as it is the longest-running medical drama in the history of the small screen (via People). Since Grey’s Anatomy premiered years ago, many characters have come and gone in the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital (formerly Seattle’s Grace Hospital). Naturally, many of them have become beloved by fans, including Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), the head of the trauma department and former chief of surgery at the aforementioned hospital.

“Grey’s Anatomy fans are used to watching Hunt save lives, but the events of the season 18 winter finale suggest that his time is over. What does the future hold for the character and the actor who plays him?

“The final episode of Grey’s Anatomy ended dramatically, with Owen Hunt’s fate hanging in the balance. In short, he was involved in a car accident that culminated in the vehicle veering over a cliff and crashing to the ground. Certainly no sign of progress for him. At the time of writing this article, it is not known what Kevin McKidd’s plans are for Grey’s Anatomy as his character status has yet to be confirmed. However, there has been no evidence to suggest that he will be leaving the series. Kidd may not be an original cast member, but he has been around long enough to be considered a key player in the series. Surely, if they were going to kill off his character, he would have been given a more definitive goodbye.

The cliffhanger ending suggests that Owen will survive the accident, although he has some potentially career-threatening injuries to overcome. However, Grey’s Anatomy is no stranger to disappointing deaths, so anything is possible. We’ll just have to wait until 24 February 2022 to find out what happens to Hunt.
