Grey’s Anatomy: What Happened To Arizona Robbins

Over the past two seasons, Grey’s Anatomy has treated fans to several returning characters. But some have yet to appear, including the beloved Arizona Robbins. Then recently, Camilla Luddington, who plays Jo Wilson, shared the perfect fan theory that could bring Arizona back for Grey’s Anatomy season 18.

Ahead of the premiere of Grey’s Anatomy season 18, many fans were excited about the return of Addison Mongtomery. Then, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Luddington was asked who else she would like to see return to Grey’s Sloan, and the actress named Arizona.

“The ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 18 star also offered a theory about Jo and Arizona, reminding fans that it was her character who became Grey Sloan’s obstetrician and gynecologist. So she could learn a thing or two from a fetal and paediatric surgeon.

Grey’s Anatomy: What Happened To Arizona Robbins

It’s been a hot minute since Grey’s Anatomy fans last saw Capshaw playing Arizona. In season 14, the character left Seattle for New York.

At the time, Arizona noticed that her daughter Sophia wasn’t adjusting to life on the coast. So when Nicole Herman offered to start a women’s health center, Arizona decided to move to the Big Apple.

Also staying in New York was Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez), Arizona’s ex-wife on Grey’s Anatomy. In season 12, Callie moved away from Seattle to be with Penny Blake (Samantha Sloyan). However, the two broke up. Then, when Arizona left in the season 14 finale of Grey’s Anatomy, she hinted that she and Callie might get back together in NYC.

At the moment, Grey’s Anatomy fans will have to wait and see if the Shondaland series will ever give an update on Arizona and Callie, let alone season 18. But it seems Capshaw still sees the medical drama in a favorable light.

In an interview with Metro 2020, the publication asked the actor if he would ever return. Capshaw then replied, “I feel like that was my home for so long but I don’t watch the show much so I’m not sure how it would be done. It was such an incredible role and an incredible privilege. … I loved being part of it.” Meanwhile, Ramirez recently confirmed that she would be open to returning as Callie on Grey’s Anatomy.
