Grey’s Anatomy: Is Owen Hunt Dead?

Attention fans of Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 – the wait is almost over. The Shondaland dramas will both return in a few weeks for their winter premieres. Now, ABC has released a new promotional trailer for Station 19 Season 5 and Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 that shows what to expect when the shows return for episode 9, aka the big crossover event that will reveal whether Owen Hunt will die. Here’s a breakdown of the preview.

The new promo trailer for Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 begins with the first half of the upcoming crossover episode. The firefighters meet Seattle’s first female fire chief, Natasha Ross, who is played by Merle Dandridge. She also seems to have a connection with Robert Sullivan, and Andy Herrera notices it right away.

Meanwhile, Natasha calls the Station 19 crew into action to help rescue Owen Hunt , who was inside a car that went over Leon’s Ridge in the winter finale. Ben Warren is also determined to reach his friend.

However, he is uncertain if Owen is alive or dead because he would have suffered a 100-foot fall. Then Sullivan confirms that a civilian “has no pulse,” indicating that someone dies. But, of course, it could be the driver who died and crashed his car in the winter finale.

Grey’s Anatomy: Is Owen Hunt Dead?

Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy fans will have to see where they take all the stories in the winter premiere. But whatever happens, we’re still not entirely convinced that Owen Hunt is dead. Hayes’ comments to Meredith seem too casual. Teddy also asks him what happened in the car, which could relate to Owen’s secret.

Right before the accident, Owen Hunt revealed that he gave a veteran the medication he needed to die, and he asked Hayes to do the same thing for three other soldiers. Now, we don’t think Grey’s Anatomy would continue this storyline with Owen. McKidd’s contract also carries him through season 19. But whatever happens, it will be wild.

Despite previous production delays, the new preview of Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 has confirmed that the shows will return with the winter crossover premiere on Thursday, Feb. 24. Station 19 Season 5 Episode 9, “Started From the Bottom,” will kick off the event at 8 p.m. ET. Then Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 9, “No Time to Die,” will end the new crossover and begin at 9 p.m. ET.
