Sister Wives: Is There Room For A Fifth Wife?

Sister Wives: Is There Room For A Fifth Wife?

With all this talk of monogamy on Sister Wives, there is another rumor that the Brown family is dealing with, that Kody Brown might be interested in taking a fifth wife. Since season 15 just aired, it seems like the Brown family is dealing with quite a few rumors that don’t seem to be going away. So when they sit down with Entertainment Tonight to promote the new season, one of the things that comes up is whether or not their family will expand.

The correspondent begins by asking each of the women, on video chat individually from their homes, what their relationship with Kody Brown is like at the moment, as well as their relationships with their Sister Wives.

Janelle Brown admits that she and Kody Brown have definitely faced challenges this year due to COVID-19 limited time together. After taking time to re-evaluate their relationship, Janelle realized that she still likes Kody Brown and still wants him around after almost 30 years of marriage.

She states that she appreciates her relationships with her sister wives more as time goes on. Meri Brown claims that she has been with Kody Brown from the beginning and hasn’t gone anywhere. This completely contradicts Kody Brown in Sunday’s episode, saying, “If Meri and I really wanted to be together, we would.” Meri Brown doesn’t talk about relationships with her sister wives. Her interview is not very convincing. She says, “Things aren’t always better but they always get better,” without time for Christine and Robyn Brown’s responses about their current relationships with their mutual husband.

“Are there plans to expand the family?” the women were asked. And given the high drama of a home and Kody Brown’s recent comments about plural marriage, their responses were a bit of a surprise.

Initially, the question was met with laughter from all four women. Then, Robyn Brown explains that their religion, a fundamentalist Mormon group, teaches them to have as many children as possible and that they pray every day about the possibility of having more children. Robyn Brown refuses to elaborate on whether she will give birth to more of Kody Brown’s children.

But if Robyn Brown is done having children with Kody Brown and his other wives seem to be as well, then that would mean that he would need to marry again to continue adding children to their family. Is this something he would consider at this point? So when the women were asked about the rumors of a fifth wife, Meri Brown said, “Yeah, they’ve been talking about that since basically season one.” As the other wives laughed, Meri Brown clarified, “And when I say ‘they,’ it’s super fans, it’s haters, it’s tabloids like the bad tabloids. It’s…just… that’s what they’ve been talking about for a long time but I don’t know about you ladies but I don’t see it happening.”

For years, there have been rumors that a fifth wife might join the Sister Wives family. In fact, it was even teased on the TLC show when Meri Brown brought up a woman she thought was “cute” but Kody Brown and the other wives all seemed to agree that there was no room for another wife.
