In a candid interview with the Daily Mail, Teen Mom 2 star Maci Bookout reveals the challenges she faces in her complex relationships with her co-parenting partners, husband Taylor McKinney and ex Ryan Edwards, who is currently serving time in prison.
Maci, 31, doesn’t shy away from discussing the turbulent history between her and Ryan: “It has not been easy and it’s been really, really bad at times.” She acknowledges the pressure she feels to support their son Bentley and maintain a relationship with Ryan, while also prioritizing her marriage to Taylor. She describes it as a constant process of “temperature checking.”
Teen Mom 2: Defining Boundaries
Maci Bookout emphasizes the importance of establishing her own boundaries and comfort level in these relationships. She admits that parenting Bentley, who is about to enter high school, comes with its own set of challenges and the need to let go and allow him to make his own decisions.

Teen Mom 2: Pending Case Update
The court hearing addressed the four charges Ryan is facing, including possession of a controlled substance, DUI, harassment, and additional possession charges. No decisions were made, and the case has been postponed until Ryan’s next hearing on July 12. For now, Ryan will remain in custody at the Silverdale Detention Center in Chattanooga.
As Maci continues to navigate the complexities of co-parenting, she remains determined to prioritize Bentley’s needs and strive for healthy relationships with both her husband and ex-partner.
