1000-lb Sisters: Amy Slaton Worried About Gage’s Health

Amy Slaton and her husband, Michael, were out in the fresh air with their son, Gage. He was in a pram and they were playing with bubbles. Amy Slaton started the conversation by pointing out that Gage was having a lot of “firsts” at the same time. She continued by explaining that Gage has teeth right now. Unfortunately, the poor little boy has four teeth chipped through his gums at one time. Amy Slaton continues to talk about how blessed she and Michael are. She admits that her son, Gage, is a pretty easy child. However, she has some real worries about him. Amy describes her son Gage as a “bottomless pit”. She worries that he is heading down the same path as her sister Tammy. Amy Halterman tells her husband she would never forgive herself for raising her son to be overweight.

Speaking to the camera, Amy Slaton opens up further about her health problems after Gage. She admits that the last thing she wants is for her son to ever experience obesity. She doesn’t want her son to have to deal with bullying growing up. Amy wants him to have a normal life as a normal-sized child.

Michael did not seem to share Amy’s concerns. In fact, he reassured her that she had nothing to worry about. He didn’t think Gage was in danger of turning into his Aunt Tammy. Given her own struggles with obesity as a child, it was understandable where her concern came from.
