7 Little Johnstons: What Lies Ahead For The Johnstons?

The Johnstons are a family of seven. The family includes the parents, Amber and Trent Johnston, along with their five children; Jonah, Anna, Elizabeth, Alex and Emma. Elizabeth and Jonah are their biological children, while Anna, Alex and Emma Johnston were adopted from Russia, Korea and China, respectively.

They live in relatively small Forsyth, Ga. which is a suburb of the Macon metropolitan statistical area. Their home sits on 10 acres and has a pool. In short, they sound like any other family.

However, they are different because they are the largest known family of dwarves in the world. They are all united by a genetic disorder known as achondroplasia dwarfism, which means their limbs are shorter than those of average height.

With achondroplasia, the average adult is 3.5 to 4.6 feet tall. It is a common form of skeletal dysplasia and occurs in about one in every 40 000 births. This is partly what makes the Johnstons so unique. They have two biological children with the same genetic trait, which is present in only one of the five ‘hereditary’ traits.

Although not much is known about the extended family tree, there are some indications that Trent Johnston ‘s parents were of similar height to him. In the Amber family, he was the only one affected by achondroplasia.

And their nice little home had to be renovated for the family to use. According to Reality Titbit, the family was only able to live on the bottom floor when they moved into their 6,000-square-foot home in 2018.

7 Little Johnstons: What Lies Ahead For The Johnstons?

One of the great things about this series is that these ‘little people’ are dealing with the bigger issues of life, which are much the same issues that everyone else in their family has to deal with. This was evident in season 9, as there were many new changes for a family of seven. For example, in July 2021, fans got to see the home Elizabeth will be moving into. It will be a much smaller home than her parents’ own.

It was also revealed that Jonah recently bought his own home and it seems that Anna has also left the nest, leaving only Alex and Emma at home.

However, when the teasers for season 10 started to appear in early November, Trent Johnston asked Amber Johnston if she wanted to adopt another child. With season 10 set to air on November 16, 2021, the rumour mill is spinning and many want to know if another child could be joining the family soon. Unfortunately, nothing is set in stone at this point, but that frustrates some fans because this revelation comes on the back of Trent deciding to quit his job last August and become a car salesman, after telling Jonah that it wasn’t a good way to make a living.
