Former “Teen Mom 2” star Kailyn Lowry is exploring the idea of adoption with her boyfriend, Elijah Scott. The couple recently welcomed twins, Valley and Verse, in the fall, bringing Kailyn’s total to seven children. Despite previously stating that these would be the final additions to her family, Kailyn is now reconsidering her decision.
Kailyn Lowry, 32, has confirmed that she is done carrying children. She shared on her podcast “Baby Mamas No Drama” with co-host Vee Rivera, “No more pregnancy, no more pregnancies, no more surprise pregnancies, unplanned pregnancies, pregnancy, surrogacy, none of it.” She plans to have her “tubes tied” soon and has discussed Elijah’s vasectomy.
Teen Mom 2: Considering Adoption and Fostering
On the latest episode of her “Barely Famous” podcast, Kailyn Lowry opened up about possibly adopting or fostering children. “I definitely think that the journey of me carrying children is over, and I’m confident in that,” she explained. “But we’re moving on now.”
She mentioned Elijah’s possible regret about his vasectomy, which led them to consider other options. “Would I adopt a child? Maybe I would explore an opportunity like that. Maybe not even adopt, but, like, maybe foster a child,” Kailyn shared. She emphasized her interest in helping children who need homes rather than having more biological children.

Teen Mom 2: Reactions and Reflections
Kailyn Lowry has also discussed this idea with her children. Her son Lincoln humorously suggested adopting a child his age to play soccer with. Kailyn, however, is thinking more along the lines of fostering toddlers or older children.
Reflecting on her years of motherhood, Kailyn said, “This has been a 15-year journey for me. I’ve been having kids for 15 years.” She feels fulfilled and ready to explore other ways of expanding her family.
Teen Mom 2: Life After “Teen Mom”
Kailyn recently shared rare photos of her twins, Valley and Verse, on Instagram, celebrating Mother’s Day. The images included heartfelt snaps with her children and a video of her son Rio at a farm. The posts show a happy, bustling household.
Earlier this year, Kailyn discussed the twins’ birth story on her podcast. She explained that she gave birth at 35 weeks and canceled her scheduled C-section due to fear. Both twins spent time in the NICU, with Valley requiring a longer stay.
Kailyn’s journey through motherhood has been filled with challenges and joys. Now, with the potential for adoption or fostering, she looks forward to continuing to grow and nurture her family in new ways.
