The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Erika Jayne Is Embracing Her Negative Title This Season

Erika Jayne is certainly known as one of the most outspoken and brightest housewives in the franchise. She’s never afraid to say what’s on her mind, and will call out some of her fellow actors. Last season was a tough one for Erika with all her legal troubles with her ex-husband Tom Girard.

However, she didn’t hold back and constantly stood up for herself. This led to her being considered by some fans and even her co-stars as the “mean girl” or worse, the “villain” of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

It was no secret that Erika Jayne went through extremely difficult times last season. Fans often saw her crying more than ever before throughout the show. The most striking moment throughout the season was her violent feud with co-star Sutton Stracke. It seemed to Erika that Sutton was the only co-star who asked her intrusive questions and accused her of lying.

After this, a verbal altercation broke out, which led to Erika Jayne doing something that Sutton interpreted as a threat. Erika said: “if you ever call me a liar again, I’m coming for you”. At the season eleven reunion, it emerged that Sutton felt so frightened that he hired security after Erika threatened him at dinner.

Fans were split on which side they were on. Some felt that neither of them played too much of a victim. It could be said that they are no longer friends, even in the new season the two haven’t spoken much. Sutton wasn’t the only one who had tough questions for Erika, but also co-star Garcelle Beauvais. The other ladies talked more about it behind Erika’s back.

After the last season, it was clear that most viewers thought Erika Jayne did not respond well to criticism and questions from her co-stars. This considered her to be the baddie of “RHOBH”. Since Erika didn’t seem to care much what others thought, it was no surprise when she came out and let fans know how she felt about being called a “villain”.

Her exact response was: “it’s not full super-villain…I’m leaning into full protecting Erika mode, full taking care of Erika.” Backing it up with the fact that she doesn’t mind if protecting herself means turning a few feathers. Because Erika Jayne went through such a difficult time last season and in her personal life, it makes sense that she would prioritise protecting herself above all else.

The season has only just begun, but judging by the trailer, we can see that Erika is struggling with more than just Sutton Stracke. She can also be seen in a heated argument with co-star Crystal Minkoff. This feud started when Crystal brought up the alleged crime victims of Erika’s ex-husband. Last season, Erika and Crystal had no problems, so this trailer will come as a shock to some viewers.
