What Is 'Ozark's Season 4 Release Date?

Fans look forward to Ozark every year, but this time it’s a little different. The fourth and final season of the series is now underway, and it should deliver its best episodes yet and a finale worthy of the series.

Giving a preview of what’s to come, the cast say to expect an exciting Ozark season four story – including one featuring the smart but introverted Jonah Byrde (Skylar Gaertner).

Recall that the Ozark season 3 finale ended with the death of Wendy’s brother Ben. Wendy (Laura Linney) had tried to stop it, but after he outed Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer), there was nothing she could do. When Jonah found out about the murder, he confronted Helen, intending to kill her. But then she explained that she only allowed it because her parents had approved it. Jonah spared the woman’s life, but was so angry that he shot out the front window.

Meanwhile, Helen travelled to Mexico with the Byrds, hoping that Omar Navarro (Felix Solis) would decide to end their business relationship and put her first. But instead, he murdered his wife, telling the Byrds he expected to work more closely with them in the future.

What Is ‘Ozark’s Season 4 Release Date?

“The fourth season of Ozark follows the Byrde family as they try to figure out their ultimate goal. It will be split into two seven-part episodes, the first of which is due to air in late 2021 or early 2022.

As for why the series is coming to an end so soon, at the SAG Awards panel on 31 March, Solis said it was simply time to say goodbye. “All good things must come to an end. It was a good work that has to end.” he said (via Deadline). “We don’t want to wait until it’s not good to end it.”

While fans were hoping it would last longer, several cast members promised that the series would at least end on a satisfying note. Actress Jessica Frances Dukes, who plays agent Maya Miller, said fans should expect new characters, including some who have been mentioned before. She also noted that certain existing characters will see continued development, including Jonah. Skylar Gaertner interjected that the team is “pull all the stops with the finale” with the finale when it comes to character arcs and storytelling. “We have so much confidence that everyone’s going to pull it off perfectly,” he continued.
