The ink is barely dry on the NDAs of the cast of season 2’s Too Hot to Handle and already fans are dying to know if there will be a season 3. It’s only natural to want more after the season is over than what Netflix handed out with the second season of the truly unique reality dating series. Like the previous season, season 2 of Too Hot to Handle is aimed at a group of sexy singles who believe they’ve landed on a dating show where all they have to do is get together, create drama and hopefully leave with a little extra cash.
When they are informed that this is not the case at all, they all behave appropriately for a handful of people who have just been told not to have sex for the entire season, lest they give up a large share of the collective cash prize.
The premise of the series is that the actors have to choose whether they want to connect with their romantic interests on a deeper level. If everyone abstains from kissing, sex and everything in between, they get to share the $100,000 prize. But for every infraction, more money will be taken from the pot.
Will there be a Season 3 of ‘Too Hot to Handle’?
Even before season 2 of Too Hot to Handle premiered on Netflix, season 3 was greenlit. We talked about how Netflix believes in 20-something singles who want to spend a few weeks at a free resort and maybe, just maybe, hook up with other people. In January 2021, Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s vice president of non-scripted and documentary series, told Variety that filming for season 3 has already begun.
“The first season of Too Hot to Handle was filmed in 2019 and released to the world in 2020. In September 2020, filming began on season 2 before contestants had any idea they might end up on a Netflix reality series, which takes their matchmaking season to a whole other level. Instead, they were given the title of a fake show beforehand to fool them.
After the first season, contestant Francesca Farago told Cosmopolitan that she and the other contestants weren’t immediately told which show they were on.
