However, by April 2024, no updates or release dates had been shared. Both Tarek and Heather Rae seemed unsure about the second season’s status.
Heather mentioned the new season might air later in 2024. It’s possible filming is done, and the show is waiting to be broadcast.
The second season likely started when the couple’s son was born, right before the first season ended. Heather shared this on Instagram. Tarek also announced their first flip of the new season in November 2023.
The lack of news left fans wondering if the show would return at all. Some didn’t mind the idea.
Heather Rae is still a realtor but has left Selling Sunset. She explained in a People interview that she wanted to focus on family and happiness, away from the show’s drama. She expressed satisfaction with her decision, despite the impact on her income.

The Sun dubbed The Flipping El Moussas a “wife swap flop” for its poor season one performance. The show began with 796,000 viewers, impressive for a new series. However, Tarek, an experienced reality TV figure, was disappointed with the turnout.
In contrast, Flip or Flop, his show with Christina, garnered over 1.1 million viewers in its season premiere. Its finale reached 1.6+ million, far beyond The Flipping El Moussas. Yet, Christina’s new show, Christina in the Country, also saw a drop in viewers from its debut to finale.
Introducing their new partners on the shows failed to boost ratings for the ex-couple. Critics predicted The Flipping El Moussas’ cancellation due to its poor performance. However, the show was renewed for a second season, much to the displeasure of fans.
