In last night’s episode of the Kardashians’ new series, Khloe Kardashian spoke particularly candidly about her struggles with body image, low self-esteem and anxiety as cameras followed her preparations for her appearance on The Late, Late Show with James Corden.
Speaking candidly with her best friend Malika Haqq, Khloe Kardashian explained how her mental health is sometimes such a struggle that she worries about posting pictures on social media, and was later seen taking beta-blockers to deal with her issues. According to the NHS, beta-blockers are commonly used to slow the heart, and although they can be prescribed by a specialist for anxiety, they are not the most common anti-depressant medication.
Later during a confessional she added, “I think it’s gotten to the point that it’s literally safer to stay at home.”
Further on, Khloe Kardashian is seen preparing for her appearance on the chat show when mother Kris Jenner comes forward to show her support, saying she wanted to come in person because of Khloe Kardashian’s known anxiety disorder.
The scene has really divided fans, with some praising Kris Jenner for her supportive parenting, while others said it wasn’t right to hand out beta-blockers “like Tic-Tacs”.
