Alaskan Bush People: Honoring Billy Brown

The Brown family has certainly had their share of challenges during the most recent season of Alaskan Bush People. The popular Discovery Channel series recently entered its thirteenth season.

This season, the stars of Alaskan Bush People have had to deal with a fire while continuing to struggle with the loss of the Brown family patriarch, Billy Brown. Last February, Billy Brown died unexpectedly at the age of sixty-eight. This tragic loss left the Brown family devastated as they pressed on to carry on the legacy Billy created for the Alaskan Bush People.

Bear Brown adds that moving forward is something he knows his father would want the family to do. After all, notes the Alaska Bush People star, that was Billy’s goal from the beginning. “That’s really what my dad wanted,” Bear Brown explains. “To make sure us and the next generations would be set up with a self-sustainable home where we could live free,” he adds. “My dad stood for God, family, and freedom.”

Bear Brown adds that his goal is to follow his father’s legacy by passing on the same ideals Billy taught him to his son.

Bear Brown also notes that while the challenges he and his family face as a result of their losses are difficult to work through, it is important that they all remain determined and continue to pursue their dreams. “It’s by far been the hardest season or thing I’ve ever gone through in my life,” Brown says of the loss of his father.

And the Discovery Channel star doesn’t see his family’s time with the Alaskan Bush People coming to an end anytime soon. In fact, he jokes that it could end with the first truly “generational reality show.”
