The rumors that RHONY could be experiencing a significant cast reshuffle may actually be true. First, Dorinda Medley has announced that she is leaving the series. She took to Instagram to thank Bravo and the cast for their time on the series over the years. As fans dealt with the aftershocks of Medley’s announcement, Ramona Singer quietly deleted The Real Housewives of New York City apple from her Instagram bio. A few hours later, Singer added RHONY again to her bio and remained quiet.
Ramona Singer is one of the last original cast members left in the franchise, and her departure will somewhat mirror the shocking firing of the Real Housewives of Orange County’s shocking cast. Original cast members Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge were cut after season 14.
David Yontef, friend of the Housewives and host of the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, says he wouldn’t be shocked if more cast members joined the medley.
“For everyone who has heard that this is the end of the RHONY cast shakeup, I will say first and foremost that I don’t work for Bravo,” Yontef revealed to Showbiz Cheat Sheet.
But, “it wouldn’t shock me if one more person was added to the list but as is, replacing Tinsley and Dorinda would bring about a completely new show that people would be excited to watch,” he said. “I’ve said this on my Behind The Velvet Rope Podcast for the past few months that a RHONY cast shakeup was inevitable after this season”.
“Let’s not forget that Tamra announced her departure from the show a week after Vicky,” he recalled.” One thing is for sure: Leah isn’t going anywhere, Luann is very flexible and works well with all the cast, and Sonya is the ‘straw that stirs the drink’. I think Ramona is the gold standard of reality TV, and hopefully this will be the end of the cast changes, but it won’t be a shock to me either way.”
RHONY: Carole Says Dorinda Was ‘Let Go’
Carole Radziwill of RHONY tweeted that Medley “let go” because she was telling the truth. “Dorinda was only “really” HW,” she wrote. “So don’t tell the truth anymore. Believe me, that’s an important reason to let go. Telling the truth & exposing fake cast members & their storylines & how it was all manipulated by the production. I’ll never get tired of saying that I told you so much about Trump, and this.”
One fan wondered what the cast would be like if they were all real. “You’ll never know,” Radziwill responded. “But sometimes truth is crazier than fiction. Look what’s happening in the White House.”
In Medley’s Instagram announcement, she said there had to be an end to all good things. “But all things must come to an end,” she wrote. “This was a great outlet for me to heal when my late husband Richard died. I met so many interesting people and learned so much about myself, about life, and about women on the road”.
