The View: How Is Whoopi Goldberg Doing After Testing Positive For Covıd-19?
On Monday 3 January, The View returned after a two-week break with brand new episodes. The co-hosts were absent from the studio and everyone was conducting the show from their homes. Joy Behar reported that Goldberg’s COVID-19 test was positive and she is recovering. The comedian also confirmed that the “Sister Act” star will appear later in the week to talk about how she is doing.
On Wednesday, January 5, Whoopi Goldberg appeared remotely from her home to talk about her experience with the virus and how she found out she was infected. “I left a couple of weeks ago just before the break because somebody I had been around tested positive for coronavirus,” she said. “I’ve been gone a long time, I feel. They have to test us and they sent people to test me. And they tested me and it was like, ‘Oh, no, you’re not coming back. We’re not sending anybody to your house, you have corona.’”
Whoopi Goldberg said she was shocked that her test was positive because she’s “triple vaxxed” and she hadn’t been anywhere or done anything.
“But that’s the thing about the Omicron, you just don’t know where it is,” she added. “That’s the problem with the variant because it gets stronger and does different stuff to you. Unless everybody gets vaccinated, this is what we’re going to be facing for the next little while.”
