The View: Meghan Is a ‘REAL’ Republican

Meghan McCain is known as the conservative voice of The View. Often clashing with more liberal co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin and especially Joy Behar, McCain is never shy in sharing her perspective when it comes to politics. The View panelist is relatively active on social media and has recently published a photo that has received much praise.

By joining The View team in 2017, Meghan McCain saw an opportunity to reach an audience within her own demographic.

“I think everyone is more interested in politics,” she told author Ramin Setoodah for her book Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View. “Young women are different now than when I was younger. They are all involved, civically committed and informed. I think that’s also why the show is going well”.

According to Setoodah’s book, ratings have increased since McCain got a seat at The View’s table. ABC’s co-host believes that her strong political position brings a more interesting dialogue to the show.

“I think the reason I’ve worked and other Republicans haven’t done it is because I’m the first real Republican they’ve hired,” McCain told Setoodah. “I think there were a lot of people who hired who are in the crowd, or who are Republicans who are ashamed to be Republicans – or who feel intimidated.

The View: Meghan Goes Neutral

McCain and Behar discuss matters outside of politics, including their affinity for headbands. Often wearing the on-air accessory, the star of The View recently published a photo of herself wearing a colour she considered neutral, even though it was a print. “As far as I’m concerned, leopard print is a neutral one! ,” she endorsed the photo on Insta. “(I swear I have her too – I’m just bad at it!)”

Her followers applauded the look. “Yes! One of my often repeated style tips! And your hair looks great,” commented a fan. “Leopard print is def a neutral,” another confirmed. “Great to keep the look elegant,” one follower wrote.

Someone even suggested Meghan McCain work with Behar on a side job. “Make a headline with joy, please,” the fan asked.

While her dubious co-hosts of The View will expand into the accessories industry, McCain will be very busy between her first baby on the way and the ongoing hot topics at the table.
