7 Little Johnstons: Does Amber Johnston Have Skin Cancer?

The TLC series 7 Little Johnstons has been on our screens for 10 seasons now and has gained a huge following. During one episode, Amber Johnston experienced skin cancer. The news shocked her and some fans have wondered if it’s true, given the moles on her face.

7 Little Johnstons: Does Amber Johnston Have Skin Cancer?

In an episode of The 7 Little Johnston, Amber told the camera that she is at a higher risk of developing skin cancer. This was after she had undergone a series of tests for mutations on her back. However, doctors told her that the moles were “not full-blown melanoma” but also “not benign”, reports Reality Tidbit. Since then, the spot has been removed and it looks like she has healed.

In an introduction to a new episode of Pop Culture, Trent asked about an unscheduled appointment with a dermatologist. The doctor had asked Amber to go back for a skin check after taking a biopsy of the “late cells,”, which led him to believe that the second spot might be problematic. Trent then told Amber that she should have it removed because it was constantly changing, which was very upsetting to her.

Speaking to the camera, Amber Johnston explained that skin cancer doesn’t go away quickly and doesn’t get better. She confessed that she knew she was at a higher risk of developing cancer.

The skin cancer scare is unsurprising, given that the Johnston family are no strangers to health problems. The youngest of them, Alex Johnston, was diagnosed with central sleep apnea in 2017. In one episode, a doctor told the family the condition was likely caused by a brain rhythm compression, but it wasn’t the boy’s first health problem. Six months before his diagnosis, Alex underwent surgery to remove his tonsils and adenoids due to the health problem.

Prior to the surgery, Amber shared that she would lay down her life for her son, as any loving mother would. Even though they were aware that the surgery was necessary, they were worried that something would go wrong. According to a report in The List, Alex has been through so much, from a difficult adoption, to a scary brain surgery and more medical scares. It’s no wonder his mother was worried about him.

Amber, too, has had a number of back and spinal operations over the years. She explained that surgeries are part of the problem for little people. After a series of weight loss posts, some fans asked if she had had bariatric surgery. However, he refuted the rumors and shared that he has been on a diet and exercise plan.
