Alaskan Bush People: Matt Brown, Motivation vs Inspiration

Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown has been at the center of Brown family controversy in recent weeks. He has called out his mother and late father for taking all of the earnings from the show that he and his siblings helped make successful.

In the midst of all this and his journey to sobriety, Matt Brown took to Instagram to talk about the differences between inspiration and motivation. The video opens with the Browns’ oldest son taking a deep breath while soaking up the morning sun. He then went inside to have a heart-to-heart with his fans.

So what I was thinking about is the difference in inspiration and motivation, right? Motivation can be anything. People can be motivated to do one thing or the next,” the “Alaskan Bush People” star said in the video. “Most of the time I find motivation leads me in a direction that, later after looking at it, I really didn’t want to go.”

Matt Brown pointed out that motivation can be driven by bad things just as easily as by good things. Because motivation is often external forces. Inspiration, on the other hand, is an entirely different thing.

He ends the video by asking his fans to find inspiration and use it to accomplish something they’ve been putting off. That book you’ve been wanting to read for a while? Matt wants you to read it.

The Alaskan Bush People star’s Instagram post comes at a time of great upheaval for him and his family. Back in April, Matt posted a lengthy video exposing all the issues he had with his time on the show and the way he was treated by his family. For example, he talked about how they were forced to pretend they didn’t have any modern conveniences for the sake of the show. But that wasn’t all. Then he accused his parents of withholding hundreds of thousands of dollars that rightly belonged to him.

All these lies led to a breaking point and forced him to leave the show. Brown names the things that led him to addiction to drugs and alcohol. Despite everything he has been through, however, he seems to be doing better in his personal life. And while he’s not on the best of terms with the rest of his family at the moment, inspiration to heal those wounds could strike at any time.
